The playoffs are finally here.

I think any team in Lion can beat any other team. That's how competitive this conference is.

Let's hear your predictions for round one.

Barbary Coast vs Angola Wave

These teams just met in week 15. BCP came out with a balanced attack, running on 36 plays and throwing on 37. Angola went with mostly passing plays, and many of those to their HB. BCP was minus 3 in turnover differential, but held on to a 31-17 win.

Pick: BCP

Zimbabwe Bulls vs Beltway Bandits

If you're feeling a little deja vu, it's because these two teams just played each other in week 16. Zimbabwe thumped Beltway 61-20, aided by a 5-1 turnover ratio in their favor. I'm sure Beltway will have a better game plan next week, but unless the GLB gods reverse the turnover numbers, it probably won't be enough.

Pick: Zimbabwe

Brazzaville Blacc Knights vs Quicama Park Rangers

These two teams met in week 14, and Brazzaville came away with a comfortable 17 point win, in which Brazzaville enjoyed a plus 4 turnover differential. Will either team's defense show up this time? I think Brazzaville's may.

Pick: Brazzaville

Nigeria Nightmares vs Saskatoon Vulcanos

Nigeria beat Saskatoon 38-23 in their previous meeting, despite three turnovers to Saskatoon's zero. Saskatoon seemed overmatched for most of the game. I don't see this matchup ending much differently.

Pick: Nigeria

BCP: but closer than the experts think

Zimbabwe: think they win by more this time

Quicama: regular season game was closer than the score says, if Q can run the ball this upset might actually happen

Nigeria: if Nigeria doesn't give the ball up they will win by even more this time

I find this unlikely.

We did well but i doubt we can pull off a big win like that again. Beltway is a damn good team and i think we just happened to find the areas they werent covering this game. 2 times in a row though? not likely. Win? yes...bigger win? prob not.

Thanks though =)

if QPR can avoid turnover then we might be able o pull off a famous win. that's a BIG IF as BBK are specialists

if we avoided your fantastic secondary and the turnover machine that was working there at BBK i felt that we could squeak it (as crazy as that sounds).. but to win as handsomely as we did is a real shock!! i was probably the only guy here in AAA2 that was quietly confident - i doubt many in my team shared my sentiments lol

next up Nigeria, who are another beastly team

Brazzaville did what BCP almost did against Quicama and screwed up my predictions.

Here are my predictions for Round 2:

Zimbabwe Bulls @ Barbary Coast Pirates

The first meeting between these teams, way back in week 7, was surprisingly one-sided. A botched attempt at the wildcat didn't help Zimbabwe much, as they dropped a 29-6 decision to BCP, in which the Pirates enjoyed a fair amount of success on the ground, yet stalled in the red zone. Luckily, their kicker nailed all five FG attempts. Sach Happe enjoyed a 3 sack game and forced two fumbles, while Mr Thou made pancakes for the entire offense.

Will BCP run the ball all game like last time? Will Zimbabwe try the wildcat again? (I hope so)

Pick: BCP

Quicama Park Rangers @ Nigeria Nightmares

Nigeria beat Quicama early in the season, but as we saw in the Brazzaville game, Quicama has improved, while those teams with a lot of season one players have remained stagnant.

Pick: Quicama

stimulating reading but i do feel that the QPR has 'improved' statement is a touch off the mark. we've rarely been smacked down and most of our games were finely balanced. our D hasn't exactly shone all season but our offense remains potent, status quo i'd say lol.

i can't wait to improve
