Well, DD and WWR both found out last night that they are missing the post-season up the in WL. So they'll be coming back with Nairobi and LOL, but who goes? Both AAA CC winner still have to come up I would assume. Makes sense that 3 teams are going to be relegated from each Conference this season. So Angola and SoA who might have thought they were safe are gone? Am I right?

LOL should fall back further than APL w/ all lvl ~40 players.

so 3 and 2 for the two conferences would be my guess

They should but they wont most likely. If Bort worried that much about it he wouldnt have let them move to the WL.

I feel bad for APL because as much as the young teams are going to be real solid, DD is a machine and will dominate the league next season. As far as LOL, they earned the right to be in the WPL so what they did is fine by me....

I wouldn't give DD the season 12 APL trophy just yet... A lot will be different by then.

I agree, in fact I think what LOL did was very smart. They will be back in Pro long before any of the slowbuild teams that have dropped all the way down back to the cloud.

nobody said anything about LOL doing it though I personally think it's a punk move and put a big black mark on the inaugural WL because of their own selfishness. What people said was that Bort should not have let them. It's not like it wasn't widely known before hand.

Sorry to disappoint but DD is the first real slow build and is loaded with a bunch of season 2 players which are better than what anyone else here has. That isn't a knock on any teams here, it is just a fact that nobody here will compete with them next season.

Oh Goody!

With LOL going slow build, there have been few game recaps to write, and a smattering of posts made on the forum showing my mild interest in this season have been the extent of my writing outlet.

But lo and behold, and topic comes up in the APL forum that provide the perfect opportunity to write endlessly about a topic, plus multiple tangents, that maybe 3 people really care about, and a dozen or so others whine about as filler for dead air on an Internet radio talk show. Here's a tip: the Black Forest Mercenaries are the sleeper to win the World League in Season 11. And before you start taking me to task on that one, make sure you grasp the concept of the term "sleeper". Thanks.

Two items for the record. First, long before it became public knowledge that LOL was going slow build in Season 11, the topic was debated openly and vigorously (damn Democrats) on the LOL forum, and a lot of good points were made on both sides of the coin. In the end, the players, not the management voted to go slow build. This happened long before the great and wonderful World League was implemented into the game.

Second, and most importantly, the Legionnaires EARNED the right to participate in the World League. They met all the criteria as set forth when the World League was officially, sort of, kind of after a poll, announced for Season 11. I don't know where the post is. If this point gives you a hard one to deal with, then go find it yourself.

Anyhoo, LOL met the criteria regardless of their plans for Season 11 slow build. Part of me feels pretty strongly that bort messed up by not taking more definitive action, but then the saner part of me looks at what a cluster the implementation of the World League had become, and in the grand scheme of things, was simply ignored due to lack of energy and interest at that point. My opinion, and if you disagree, I respect you on that, but I am not going to debate the point all over again. I am just here for the writing Jones.

As a side note, I believe the revenue of going WL for Season 11, versus knowing you were going right back to APL or even AAA, was far greater than staying. Yeah, that sounds a little greedy, and so what. It isn't the fault of any one team that the Economics in this game are so messed up, it rewards teams for making decisions that might impact the future of the game. Then again, it is a beta game, so by definition a learning process, though some may have thought the curve wasn't going to be that high. Anyone that pays cash for a beta game (myself included) deserves the opportunity to wallow in self-pity and remorse. I just choose to learn and move on from it, but that's me. Minor tangent swing there. Like I said, 15 long game weeks.

So here's hoping that LOL returns to APL in Season 12. There are a lot of hungry jackals (and pussies) out there that would love to take a bite at LOL when they are down. Just be careful what you ask for.

As a side note, when doing spell checking with TextPad, the first suggested change for spelling of bort is abort. I can't make this crap up!

Based on the post about World League in another topic, it seems the best way to make sure LOL gets relegated (or is it regulated?) to AAA is for two APL teams to go CPU. Any volunteers?? Thought not.
