Games to Watch
Balanced Game of the Week
(N.M.I) Pagan Fire Eaters @ Molokai Lavastorm
Ranked 6th both offensively and defensively, NMI has a real test this week. Against the 2nd best (at least by ranking for now) team in Alpha. This season NMI has really struggled to harness a consistent running game and on three occasions it has hurt them. Though on one of those occasions it was more about the inconsistency in the passing game which has since been rectified. Molokai has just one loss this season to SFF of Zeta, and they’ve got the #3 Defense in the league right now. They’re consistent on offense while they’re not exactly blowing people away in stats they are making clear their presence within Alpha. This game is going to come down to NMI’s running game vs. Molokai’s defense imo.

Underrated Underdog Game of the Week
Brisbane Bulldogs @ Guadalcanal Gunners
I apologize ahead of time BB. BB has possibly their toughest game this season right here this week. While the likelihood is slim to none, we’ve seen upsets happen in the past. But to beat the Gunners they’re going to have to put together the PERFECT game plan to stop that offense, it’s not just the Running game that is ranked 3rd, it’s also the passing game which is ranked 6th. Not to mention the #1 defense in the league. Expectations are that this game isn’t even going to be close. But if Brisbane can put together a great game plan perhaps they can change that.

Middle of the Road Game of the Week
Kingston Uprising @ Solomon Islands Alchemy
To this game Kingston brings a top 10 statistical team and big hopes of a championship reign. Kingston is finally getting back up to the level they played last season but in the passing game they may need more consistency against the even better teams in Zeta. This week may be a good week to get that consistency as SIA has not performed great against the pass, statistically of course, but they make up for it in other areas. This should be a fairly close, balanced game that very well could come down to inches.

Oceania Pro Alpha ‘Blitzorade’ Game of the Week
Cascade Cajun Crushers @ Auckland Old Gold and All Blacks
CCC is now the bandwagon that I find myself sitting upon! But more importantly they are 8-0 for a reason. They have a top 5 ranked statistical team that has absolutely annihilated everything in their path thus far this season. Auckland is a very capable team but in order to beat CCC they are going to have to play like Gods. Offensively CCC is ranked 4th both in the passing game and the rushing game, Defensively they’re ranked 2nd against the rush and 18th against the passing game. Right now, perhaps that’s where Auckland can gain some ground, with the passing game, if you base everything on stats, Auckland has really underachieved, but imo, they’ve performed very well this season and have not had an easy schedule, hell is any schedule easy in Pro? Auckland has the talent and staff to beat CCC, but they have got to bring the game plan. They have got to watch every single piece of footage they can get their hands on and make sure they are prepared. If Auckland can catch CCC by surprise they could very well pull an upset, while it might not be expected it’s far from impossible!

Oceania Pro Zeta ‘Tostito Goal’ Game of the Week
Tasmania Tigers @ Samoa Gangsters
Taz is ranked #1 EVERYWHERE on offense, as well as #1 in rushing D, and #2 overall defensively. They’re ranking for Pass D is ‘saddening’ at 19th but that could very well be because people are just not putting the ball in the air against that freakish secondary. To make matters worse, Taz is ranked 2nd in their ability to return Kicks. So now you’re probably thinking “omg Samoa can’t win”. No, not true, Samoa is a statistically ranked top 10 team, who’s proven their ability to play at a very high level. Yes they have their work cut out for them but even Taz knows damn well that Samoa can win this game. Samoa is going to have to contain the offense of Tasmania, if they cannot do that, then it wont’ be close, because Taz’ offense is ridiculously good this season. If they can do that, they’ll put themselves in great position to pull an ‘upset’ and move up the ranks in Zeta.
