Isn't it supposed to be a safety if he recovers it out of the endzone, and then returns it for -.5 yds for a "touchback"?

We don't know for sure if he recovered it out of the endzone. The game counts yardage inside the endzone too (as you can see by 100+ yard INT returns), meaning he could have gotten the ball in the endzone already and then lost 0.5 yard.

Seeing as I'm from SK, two Moose Jaw Teams playing each other is funny to me, because I'm not sure that there are that many people living in Moose Jaw that can even play football, let alone support two teams... Most of them are going to drive to Regina to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

wait.... if the fumble went backwards and when the defender recovered it and it was a touchback, wouldnt that mean he was already in the endzone?

HB fumbled/tackled before the ball broke the plain, so no TD. Ball continues forward mometum and lands in endzone. Under Bort rules, this is a safety. Remember, Bort doesn't claim to use NFL rules.

ok for all the people that dont know basic football

if you recover a fumble in the endzone it counts as a touchback
if you recover the fumble in the endzone and go backwards but not out of the back of the endzone its a touchback
if you recover the fumble in the endzone and go backwards though the back of the endzone thats a safety
if you recover the fumble outside of the endzone (say the 2 yard line) then go back into the endzone and get tackled thats a safety

Yeah I know the rules. I assumed he recovered it out of the endzone, and the (-.5 yd return) brought him into the endzone, then he got tackled. Which would be a safety.

I forgot it counted yardage in the endzone as well, so he probably recovered it in there.

This isn't basic football. Look at the play AFTER the safety... Bortball doesn't do a free kick, it does a kickoff.

i never knew if you ran out of the back of the endzone it was a safety
