My Mali trash talking was an act and not how our team really is
Some Kai guys started that a few seasons back, and we just continued the tradition.
We are all cool guys, but a little smack talk doesn't hurt...

I really don't mind anymore about the trash talk. GL in playoffs! I expect to face your team again this season... This should be a very tough and close game. You have a strong squad.... congrats!

The problem is, I feel the "golly gee" nice guy stuff now is the act. This is the second season in a row you've posted this 16-0 thread crap. Why would you think anyone would want to read that? But let's pretend for a moment that somehow you are just innocent and socially clueless and just don't see why you'd be setting a bad tone. Well, then there's the playoff loss last season. Instead of putting your paw out there and saying "good game" with not any excuse to mitigate the win, you do this:

Nevertheless, that is no excuse.
Good luck!

See, that personally ticked me off. You throw in the "golly gee" "that is no excuse" at the end to try to disguise this as a good sportsmanship message. But by claiming the AI wasn't set (you tried this forum tactic in WE A#2 as well)......that shows a very immature and poor sport (or an incompetent owner if it is true). It tries (pathetically unsuccessfully) to invalidate the win as simply - "we weren't ready....weren't really trying".

So, I certainly am open to seeing if you've changed your spots since then. But I don't buy for a second that all the assitude you throw out there is just an act. Some of it - sure.

So I'm more than a little apprehensive about accepting your "golly gee" apology/make nice. I guess time will tell if you actually mean it. Because actions will tell more than a few well crafted words thrown out there.

I agree. I mean you guys should hear the trash talk between me and my friends in just about anything competitive we do with one another.

Stop being so hypersensitive.

So what's the difference between being sensitive and hypersensitive? Shouldn't you have started with just saying I am being too sensitive before you upped the ante to hypersensitive?

Yes, it is just a game. I signed up to play some dotball and manage a team. When Bort implements an ignore feature in the forum I'll be happy to just keep quiet because I won't have to see it. Until then, game or not, there are social aspects to this game (via the forum) and like in real life, certain things I do not appreciate going unchallenged. And, in this case, it isn't even trash talking. It is perpetuating a falsehood.

As for the anecdotal account of the trash talking that you do - bully for you! But I do NOT like to trash talk. You suggest that because you and your friends do this that it is "okay"? uh uh. I happen to not like doing it as I outgrew that sort of thing sometime in high school. I do not see how it adds anything to the game. But if you enjoy it, knock yourself out having fun! So if I am being hypersensitive in the con then anyone who is pro I say is being immature. No wait....hyperimmature! Maybe even megaimmature.

As long as I am forced to read crap (I do need to keep up to date w/ the league forum if I am going to keep my team competitive) with no ability to suppress the crap that I don't want to see, then as far as I am concerned it is part of the game and I have just as much right to fire back vs the crap as anyone does to spew crap. And again, this wasn't trash talking I had a problem with in this particular instance. It was a pattern of behavior a certain GLB ID was trying to wave off as an accidental perception of him.

If you don't want to read trash talking, then don't. Otherwise why let it affect you so much? You know what it is. So in letting it affect you like you do, simply because you don't like it, is like banging your head into a brick wall.

You know what one of the definitions of insanity is? Repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different result.

And how do I know if something is crap or not until I read it?

It's called answering fire. I, in no way, stop people from posting crap. But, if my crap-o-meter identifies it as such and consequences will happen. It is the nature of conversation.

This has very little to do with me repeating things over and over and hoping for a different result. I like the result. Crap is talked, I respond and things usually work themselves out. That's a good result as far as I am concerned. If anything, it's the OP of this thread you should be addressing with that comment.

Quite frankly, it is a game.
I do not care if the league does not like me.
My job as owner is to get my team to win, not make the league like me.
