Just wondering what some of you other non-playoff owners are going to do about scrimmages. Since they have no impact on XP, money, etc, about the only real benefit from playing these scrimmages is it keeps everyone busy and allows us non-playoff owners to throw in our backups to see what they can do.

At least that is what my plans are and I was just hoping that other teams within our league will be doing the same. It makes sense to me since the games are meaningless in terms of leveling up which means there would be no point in seeing your typical starters win scrimmages 166-0 when the whole point is to see your backups in game action rather than having them sit the whole season for no reason.

or you could try different game plan situations with your starters.
Ever wonder what 100% pass or 100% blitz would do?

What if you went 100% run 100% run defense?

I suppose you could do that but it's not a gameplan that makes sense, especially a gameplan that no coach in their right mind would actually use in real situations.

I just like the idea of scrimmages so I can see how my backups play since they don't play as often as our starters. It will allow me to really mix up a few of my gameplans now since I'll be playing different players.

If someone else has a different purpose for the scrimages, maybe to see starters with diffenent settings,

I like the idea of getting to play outside of our conference more than 1 game

Scrimmages are a good idea, we're looking forward to them now on another team im on.

So if we play each other in the 2nd round "scrimmage" I think you should start your DTs at WR and your Punter at QB. Just to see what would happen.
You know, play the backups.

Believe me, my DT would love to play WR!

I would love that as well, to play like maybe 2 or 4 games a season out of conference.

That would be sweet.

I've made a suggestion for another team to see if we can't negotiate with one of the teams we're going to scrimmage to play a game where the Offensive depth chart can only be filled with natural defense personnel and vice versa.

That'd be fun as hell IMO.

i actually agree with enkidu on this, a preseason game with vice versa depth charts would be fun. can you imagine a WR or QB trying to tackle a LB or DE on the move. lol... how many missed and broken tackles would that game have. not saying the LB or DE would be able to get very far down field before the HBs and WRs caught them but it would take all 11 to pull him down. lol
