Balanced Game of the Week
Rip City Reign @ Florida Frenzy
Both of these teams took an early season knock off, Rip City’s was against S/Cal and Florida took a beating in a close game against the Gunners (they also gave a beating).
It’s not shocking to me, to see FF with a top 10 ranked offense, what is surprising is to see RCR & FF with a lower 20 Defense ranking. Both of these teams, while clearly better than some, need to step up early and prove they’re also better than others. They can’t go down by too many games too early in Zeta, right now Zeta is proving to be the tougher conference, whether or not that holds, is yet to be determined, but clearly every win matters that much more here.

Underrated Underdog Game of the Week
Williamsport Soul Reavers @ Orlando Prime Timers
I don’t often put my own team into write-ups, so I’m going to take the opportunity early in the season to do it here. But in this game, I’m also making my own team the underdog. WSR found out the hard way, in week 1, that just because ‘in face value’ a team may seem beatable, doesn’t mean they are. Welcome to Pro’s eh? While they did rebound against SCR, it wasn’t so much that anyone feels intimidated or even worried about WSR right now. OPT is an established team with a damn good track record of messing up any plans that another team might have. That’s not to say WSR can’t gameplan, those familiar with us, know we can for sure, but.. we obviously gotta step it up. WSR is going to have to put together one hell of a gameplan to pull this one out. They’re CLEARLY the underdog. No more Pro Welcoming, you’re here, we’re here, time to prove they belong. We all know OPT belongs here, but does WSR, we may find out in week 3. Win or lose, there’s a such thing as an admirable attempt, but winning is what matters. OPT knows they’re capable, WSR needs to prove they are.

Powerhouse Game of the of the Week
Guadalcanal Gunners@ Tasmania Tigers
I can’t say I have EVER done this..but, BOTH teams are getting the Powerhouse card in this write-up. Usually I pick one, but.. TT is getting it for their ‘face value’ ratings and GG is getting it for their track record so far this season, beating FF certainly helps also. GG has the #2 Ranked Offense, Defense, & Top 6 KR/PR units. While Their kicking game is a bit ‘under the radar’ this team is getting it done! Statistically it is true that TT is a bit ‘under the radar’ but hey, when have stats ever determined an outcome? Well okay, maybe sometimes but generally, stats determine zilch. The outcome of this game, I would say is going to be based on defense. Stats or no stats, Both teams have been able to get it done, While TT has one loss, it was still a close loss. Both teams, I expect, are going to show up with a solid game plan, and both teams are going to be fighting every second of this game. So who can hold onto the ball? Who can avoid Turning it over through the air? Someone will make a mistake, but who? That’s my prediction. Turnovers determine who wins this one!

Middle of the Road Game of the Week
Kingston Uprising @ Knox Nightmares
This game has the makings of a great one. Knox proved in week 1 that they should not be taken lightly when they took down the O3A1 Beast that is WSR (beastly last year, not so much this year). They showed up with a superior plan and executed. However, in week 2 against Sydney, they were unable to do that. Kingston has won each of their games and is looking to continue that, they’re in the middle of the pack in a LOADED Zeta Conference. But Knox knows what it takes to pull the upset here. This games my middle of the road card because of their seating in the conference. This could be the most underrated game of the week, then again it could be the most overrated game. We shall see. One thing is for sure, Knox needs to go into their bag of tricks and pull some more “WSR Poison” out against Kingston. Kingston and Knox both have the talent, but who will execute better? Let those game-plans begin!

Oceania Pro Alpha ‘Blitzorade’ Game of the Week
Cascade Cajun Crushers@ Molokai Lavastorm
I’ve given this a ‘face value’ game of the week presentation. CCC is entering this game with a top 10 O & ML is entering with a top 15 D. CCC has already been successful in creating turnovers. Molokai does not want to lose here and go down 1-2 in Alpha, but obviously CCC is playing for a top seed in Alpha at this point and NO ONE wants to lose. At face value these two teams look dead on even. So it’ll take a solid game plan (man that is starting to sound repetitious) by both and a superior by one, to pull this one out. While we can look at game results and make predictions on who’ll win this game. We also can look at the fact that sometimes, game results mean jack rabbit crap. One thing is for sure, at the end of this game, the winner will have made a strong statement about the remainder of their season and what to expect from them!

Oceania Pro Zeta ‘Tostito Goal’ Game of the Week
So Cal BDC @ Sydney Pelicans
So Cal & Sydney, possibly two of the most beastly teams in Zeta right now. SP took an early downfall to BDR, but don’t be fooled by that and start guessing upon their capabilities. So Cal has a top 5 O & D, while Sydney has a top 10 Defense. For Sydney to win this, I think they’re going to have to do most of their work defensively. Get So Cal off balance early and make big plays. So Cal has the #1 Passing Offense, which is going to be key for Sydney with the #5 Passing D. They have got to be able to come up with big plays in the secondary and disrupt the passing game of So Cal. IF they can do that, it may be a long long day for Nils Larsen. I’m looking for the matchup between Jason Haber & Robert Sherman in this game to be key. Who’ll win that matchup and make the biggest impact? Don’t blink, you might miss ALL the action !
