All right guys, after a somewhat mediocre week 2, we have some very interesting games in week 3, and the position rankings should really start to take shape after this week, as some of the top teams face off against each other.
Let's take a look at Alpha first...shall we????
The Springville Renagades hold first place for now, and they most likely will hold the same position after playing the Growing Buds. The Buds are a solid team, I'm just not sure they have what it takes to beat a team as strong as the Renegades.....
The Teutonic knights have a firm hold on second place, and should keep that hold after sending the Poseidon Tridents to a watery grave...
Easter Island, at #3, has a cupcake, and should enjoy some nice stat padding this week....
Tricity, coming in at #4, faces the Mighty Norsemen, a team that looks good on paper, but so far have looked bad on the field. No shake up here...
Coming in at #5, The Darwin Hardline comes off a close but impressive victory over Copenhagen, to take on the Cairn City Crocs, who sit at #7. This should be another hard fought game for Darwin, as Cairn is a solid team, and they are looking to move up the rankings. Keep an eye on this game!
And the Booty Island Green Goblins look to improve their standing, or at least keep their spot in the top 8, with a win over Copenhagen. I'm sure Copenhagen is looking for a win here also, to get back into the top 8. This should be a great game here!!!
Now let's take a little mosey over to Zeta....shall we???
Zeta starts off with a bang, pretty much as usual, with the #1 Wagga Wagga's taking on #7 iue5 Sorcerers. iue5 is coming off a big and impressive win against the Portland Crackers, so that #7 ranking is a bit deceiving, which is par for the course for the Sorcerers. I've played them too much, to never underestimate the iue5 crew, and I've got a feeling this may be there season. A win here by the spell casting Sorcerers would go a long way to solidify their standing. I have no doubt this will be a hard fought, great game to watch!!!!
And how about the #2 Newcastle Ghosts taking on the #6 Rutgers Silent Willies??? The Ghost's have a very impressive start beating Alpha powerhouse Vanuatu in their season opener, and creaming the Port Royal Predators in their second game. But the Silent Willies are no Port Royal Predators, and they have played solid football so far, and should provide the Ghosts with a very tough test. The Ghosts are gonna have to really spook the Willies if they want to hold on to their own willie..I mean # 2 position.
And yet another great game, the udefeated #3 Sydney Flames take on the #5 undefeated Helsinki Seamen. This should be a great game, as both teams look equally matched. This game will definitely be their toughest test so far this season, for both teams.
The #4 Chicago six take on a very strong Alpha team, the Quebec Eh's. But it looks like Chicago is the favorite in this game, and unless they just get murdered before the game, they should continue their mafia like strangle on thier standing in the conference.
And in a game not to be overlooked, the #8 Red Elephant Club takes on the #9 Portland Crackers, in a battle for last place in the top 8 standings. The AREC knows Portland wants back in, and they are a team that deserves to be there, and Bama has a lot to prove also, so this should be a very good game!!
Good luck to everyone in week 3!!!!!!!!!
