Why should we let those playoff teams have all the fun? We poor teams still have games to play too. Even if they really don’t mean anything. So here’s to a week 1 discussion for the bottom-half scrimmages.

Several match-ups this week are grudge matches from the last game of the season, while other teams are

Miami Roadfrogs (14E) at Hartford Hellhounds (9W)

Hartford ended the season on a bit of a hot steak, winning 3 of their last 4. On the other side, a late Week 15 win is all that kept Miami from possible demotion, but don’t let the ‘Frogs record fool you. Despite the record disparity, this is one of the more intriguing match-ups of the week. Miami and Hartford both have respectable defenses moving forward, so this is the time for both teams to start test-driving their offenses. As the teams keep tinkering to find what works, look for a low-scoring game, with Hartford coming out on top.

Pocono Mountain Highlanders (15E) at Scottsdale Sun Demons (10W)

Yikes, Pocono has taken its lumps as the team limps its way into BBB. Scottsdale may have had an up and down season, but they should have no trouble in their first scrimmage. Look for the Demons offense to have a field day scoring point, and the defense to bash the Highlanders to a pulp

Washington Poison (11E) at Portland Hitmen (11W)

Tying two games in a season is no small feat, even if just from a probability standpoint, but Washington somehow pulled it off. Portland ended the season on a sour note, suffering a 44-7 whopping from Margaritaville. But look for Portland to find a new fire this week. Hitmen QB Johnny Danger should have a big game against this Poison defense.

Atchafalaya Swamp Weretigers (9E) at Miami Cyclones (12W)

It’s tough being that first team under the playoff cutoff, like the Weretigers are. Late struggles kept them from the playoff race, but the tiger’s getting out of the cage now. And it’s coming right at the Cyclones. Miami’s defense is gonna have a tough day trying to slow down Opie Kenobi and that Tiger offense. Miami’s had it tough in search of points this season, so they’re gonna be even more hard-pressed to keep up. Look for the Weretigers to come out swinging harder after a disappointing end of the season.

Cleveland Kardiac Kids (13E) at Grand Haven Mist (13W)

Our first of two Week 16 grudge matches pits the two #13 seeds against one another. Cleveland took the first game in a heated defensive battle. But the Mist is putting all their starters back into the lineup for this one, so expect the tune to sing a little more differently. The GH 2nd stringers kept it close in game one, so there’s a good chance the starters can propel them over the hump. Still, look for it to be a deadlock all game.

Elk Rapid Elks (16E) at RGB Berzerk (14W)

Two teams near the bottom rung of their respective divisions square off in a battle of the sucky. Both teams should take confidence in the fact that they’ll finally have a game that’s close for each other. RGB back Johnny Awooga seems primed for the big game we’ve been waiting for. Meanwhile Elk QB Zekester Aryton has a chance to get some career games out of his receivers. We’re gonna see players on these teams play better than they have all season, but I think RGB has just a few more weapons to show Elk before they pack up and leave A7 for greener pastures

Orlando Ninjas (12E) at Ambridge Brigade (15W)

Anyone who has seen Ambridge out of the west knows the Brigade has been the whipping boy (or girl, you never know on the internet these days) of the West. Orlando is gonna be the first to get a taste of this Western meat.

Jacksonville Stars (10E) at Chicago Clams (16W)

For all the shit that we in the West give Ambridge, Chicago has had a rough go of it as well. They ended their rough season against Jacksonville with a convincing loss, and look for more of the same this time around. Enjoy BBB guys.

Well, there’s my first foray into this writing business. Wow, this is tough work. My respect for Scarlet and the other writers has just increased tenfold after I’ve tried it myself. Hope you fellas enjoy.

We (Orlando) are favored by more points than we've scored in any game all season! W00t!

Thanks for taking the time. I feel more important when seeing our name in writing.

So who's going to be King of the Failures this year? I'm uh take Jacksonville!

Good luck guys, good chance to openly experiment with your tactics. I'm honestly looking forward to that chance if my team gets bumped from the playoffs.

Dallas is a good team, but beatable. I think my energy settings cost me that game, it was a close one til our second string QB played the second half.

Just want to say we really appreciate the writting everyone has been doing, and our mini bracket has been fun, even if it means nothing but pride. Good luck everyone in the final game!
