...because the DT sheds your blocks about 100% of the time.

low agility + low blocking = DT wins all "block held or shed?" rolls => DT gets lots of chances to knock your guy over

The shed block rolls are based on strength and agility. Your agility is the issue here.

ARe you getting knocked over early (right off the snap), or after engaging the block?

So what exactly does blocking? Just looking fancy?

It's strength+agility on the defenders side, but blocking+strength+agility on the blockers side.

I generally get knocked over after engaging the block... It takes a few seconds, never right away.

My guy led the entire league with like 400 pancakes last year or somethign crazy.... when he's on his feet, he's a force. When he's on his back, not doing too much...

It doesn't look like strength and blocking are bad? over 100 and 75?? Should I take some EQ from Strength, and put it into agility? Maybe make my strength 90 and have agility up to 65??

Thanks for the advice guys

Agility. Agility. Agility.

End of story.

I disagree to a point. Agility would help, but I think the problem is blocking. Agility will get him to where he needs to be to engage the block, and he seems to be doing that. Where he's having the problem is holding the block once engaged. IIRC, that's where Blocking comes in. Blocking is the ability to maintain the block.

I've been switching my level 61 guard from a strength based build to a more balance, and ideally blocking based build. That seems to be helping me quite a bit in sustaining blocks for the duration of the play. With strength based, I was having a lot of 2-3 second blocks that broke down right as the back was reaching the line. Not good.

I'd move at least one piece of eq from strength to blocking, then get agility up to 61 asap. 50 is way too low, you're getting knocked off balance rather easily. You've wasted a lot of SP in get low and pancake that you should have been spending on agility and foundation. Ideally you'd have 68 agility and 8 in foundation, no more than 2 in pancake.

Do you guys really think Blocking should be raised?

What's an ideal ratio of strength to blocking to agility?

After I level up and with some EQ boosts, it looks like I can be at

strength: 90
Blocking: 80
agility: 70

by the time the playoffs come....

DO you think that would be a good build??

also, it looks like I dumped a lot into Pancake and get low, but I have AEQ that gave me 4 SPs for both of those...

Blocking will help you to hold the blocks and will give you a
better chance at pushing your opponent down without him doing it
to you (as per the changes recently with "Stun" if I read them right.)

I had a strength heavy build for my center this year and I switched up my gear and VA's
to give him 10 more points in blocking. He still gets knocked down, but it looks like
that happens less now or after he has fended off the pass rusher.

Do it with your equipment first, and if you don't like it you can always
change it back.
