If any of the Sharks want a chance to actually get on a team that has a chance to win in the playoffs shoot me a PM. If you want to be released after the post-season I'm sure we can work something out...I'm just trying to get myself and hopefully give you a chance to win yourself a Championship after a horrible season...It would be a Cinderella story to an extent.

PS: It would suck to get stuck on a team with a Random GM who goes against what your used too...

Dont gut the team.

Im sure someone will buy the team and since there is a huge demand for teams, they will bust their ass to make it a winner.

Stick with the teams and see what the new owner is like and then if you dont like what they are about, then hope off the ship thru trade or being cut.

As for being cut during the playoffs, there was rules put in place to stop that. I was one of the vocal people to have these rules put in place and you cannot cut anyone from the trading deadline till the off season

Wouldnt that be a great thing then? since they only won 1 game this season, going against that is a step in the right direction

It depends on the relationship with the GM. The Beavers (My team) were in that situation but we didn't want to get stuck with a new GM so I took over...We loss several stud players but we picked up some replacements and now we're attempting to come back from a disaster...

I'm just saying...If these guys want a chance to go from being in last place to a shot at turning a team around and getting a ring then they may aswell take the opportunity.

This is what should happen. Anyone who takes a single player from this team should be black balled.

I disagree. if I was on a team that was sold, I would be trying to get a new contract asap so I would at least have a say in who I was playing for. Why in the world would I want to get stuck with some random owner who might be a complete ass or worse? I'd much rather make my decision on who I'm playing for.

I don't understand this sentiment. Given the relative newness of the game, these types of implosions are inevitable. The players should be given an opportunity to look at their various options. They shouldn't have to wait around for some 3rd party who they don't know to step into the void and potentially make matters worse. If someone who has already won the players' trust steps up to the plate, fine. But the concept of having to stick with a new owner whose only known virtue is his place on the wait list seems ridiculous.

On the flipside though, this happens in real pro football too...some new unknown owner buys the team, and the players under contract to that team have no clue what he will be like, but they are still under contract. I think there has been something like 7 new NFL owners since the year 2000.

Remember, this is also a business sim too. A good part of running one of these teams isn't just player development focus and game settings. It's dealing with FA's, cutting unhappy players, trying to juggle the payroll to the stadium income, and yes, dealing with a crappy owner if you are a player under contract to that team.

This is a game though and there's a reason why players can be signed to contracts off of CPU Teams. If I signed a 2-3 year deal with an owner I liked, there's no way I would stick around for a new owner for 120 days of playing time.

This is all true, however, the comparative barriers to entry to purchasing an NFL team and a GLB team are decidedly different. In the NFL, potential owners are vetted and need a sufficient level of extraordinary wealth to purchase a team. In GLB, any kid with an internet connection and a $10 allowance qualifies. In the NFL, owners have strong profit incentive to develop a winning franchise and have the funds to purchase the service of advisors to help develop a winning team. In GLB, as we have all seen, owners may have alternative agendas that do not necessarily include fielding the best team possible.

Bottom line: players shouldn't have to suffer what could be a succession of incompetent/unethical owners before finally getting a decent owner and being able to enjoy a computer game. Furthermore, successful owners/GMs shouldn't be penalized by the fact that good players want to come to their team when the players' existing team implodes.

By making this post, I in no way am insinuating that I am a such a successful GM.

I dont have a problem with the players leaving. Where I have an issue is them joining teams in this league and having an effect on the playoffs.

I think one of the current players should step up and buy the team or the team should be locked until the offseason.

I'd be very surprised if that happened. Also, I'm not sure that 1 or 2 players would have that much an effect on the playoffs.

Ok, say a nice DT on that team goes to a team that currently has a level12 backup. there is now a weekness that someone definately would have tried to exploit that is shored up. Depth is huge in this game.
