well again we all know preseason ranking mean nothing but for me it is to work bugs out of the data base to be ready for the real season's ranking.
kinda cool to see who is doing what and yet again i put no stock in these
the formula:
Strength of Record
Equation--Strength of Record = (Total number of wins of opponents you have defeated) - (Total number of losses of opponents that have beaten you)
Definition--This is measure of how good a team is. It rewards beating good teams and punishes for losing to bad teams.
Quality of Play
Equation--Quality of Play = (Actual total point differential) - (Predicted total point differential)
Definition--It is essentially how many points (total) that team has beaten (or not beaten) the spread by. I feel it is a good indicator of whether a team is playing better or worse than expected.
