60 TDs last season on his way to a league championship. 5 in the playoffs

This next year he'll be moving to a 34-cap league. The only question: Will he be able to surpass 100 TDs this year? We shall see.

not super impressive, impressive tho, id like to see the build but 100 tds is wishful thinking and thinking u can do it in a 34 capped league is just errogance

I'll give him 2 seasons before he's tearing it up in the pros.

Oh...I won't open up his build, but I will tell you this: Most of his relevant attributes are higher than yours.

do you have your Return S up past 10? if so is it working for you, mines already at 9 for my level 17 and it could easily get up to 15 soon

You REALLY need to focus on your base abilities before spending any points on SA's. You're losing out on a lot of natural gains by not capping your speed and agility quickly.

to add on to wut he said which is god advice. special abilities work off of base attributes. if u have 9 RS and like 40 agility and speed than RS is useless. at lvl 17 it might not be too late to turn it around but ur going to need to get those attributes up. also i think VTbuc mentioned it in here that getting SAs too hgih can have a parabolic effect. 8-10 is probably the optimum and that would be for like a lvl 50+ with REALLY high speed and agility

imho, 17 is definitely not too late to turn it around. as a CB you only get .33 points every time you level. with players that have low gains like that, being a slow build isn't nearly as important as it would be for kickers or DTs for example. on top of that, Bort changes the sim code every season... for all anyone knows a RS of 10 might be the only way to be effective next season.

when i started out, I wasn't even building a return man. I was just a back up KR because I had the base stats. I ended up winning the KR average title that season, so I kind of inherited the job when the other KR said he didn't want it any more. because of my team's defense I had amazing return yards, and got a few TDs because of how many times my team forced punts. Being on a great team with a GM that knows how to set a DC will make more difference than any type of build you have. I ended up winning the ST MVP in a pretty competitive division, despite the fact I didn't start building a return man until this past season actually started.

I guess if you want to make the ultimate return man in the universe, than you'd probably want to roll another player and apply everything you've learned. Maybe this time go for a HB or WR and pick up a RS piece if AEQ along the way? Keep trying different things with different players. There's just too many variables to assume that what works best now for some people at some levels, will work best for everyone at every level. What's very obvious to me in my now 10 seasons of experience is that, every build type works at some level. The best pee-wee builds are almost the polar opposite of slow builds for example.

Don't ever think that you can dominate every level of competition every season throughout your career. That will just leave you disappointed. Choose where you want to excel. slow build suck for the their fist season, then they taper off to mediocre players over the course of the next season, and usually by the end of their 3rd season they are starting to perform pretty well. Some people (like me) aren't especially concerned with dominating some time next year--8 seasons down the road, at the expense of being borderline worthless for 3 seasons, doing a super slow build.

bottom line, you'll enjoy the game much more when you have lots of different players at all levels of competition, with all different build styles.

No, I don't. I've put the vast majority of my SPs into my attributes. I didn't even touch my SAs until I was level 25 or so. The best thing I found to do was to roll some AEQ early on and build your SAs that way, that way when you DO use SPs on them you can go from 5-8 CD for only 3 SPs or something like that. If I were you I wouldn't even TOUCH my SAs again until you reach level 30 or so and get speed and agility and even vision way higher.

i agree except ots really hard to get good AE rolls at lvl 17. u can try it and sometimes u do get lucky. but my corners at lvl 31 and i havent found a return specialist or superior vision piece yet

Not even the best in his league though. So obviously the league was really weak, to have several guys with 50+ punt return tds.

I was second. The guy in third place had around 30. The guy in first had 87 and played on a team that blew out almost every other team, including us 68-0 in the regular season.

Here's his page:

The real test will be this season when I play in a 34-capped league against players who will be level 37. I returned 1 for a TD yesterday in our scrimmage so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
