I'm going to give my preview for round 2, for the Zeta conference, and I've asked Fulchalin to do the Alpha preview. I would do both, but I really need to spend some time looking at film of Brisbane, and Fulchalin also does such a great job with his write ups, that I know his take on the Alpha conference would be greatly appreciated!!!! So let's get started.....


#2 Sumatra Sea Hawks vs #3 Kalgoorlie Gold Rush

It's a classic #2 vs #3.....although in this game, it's a bit skewed, because the #3 Gold Rush lost badly in the regular season, to #4 AREC, which lost badly to #2 Sumatra also, in the regular season. But then again..this is the playoffs, and anything is possible!

But just like in their regular season game, I think Sumatra will come away with the victory. The Sea Hawks have impressive depth on both sides of the ball, and I don't think the Gold Rush's thin offensive line can do the job against the stout Sumatra defense. Unless the offensive coaches at Kalgoorlie can come up with a better offensive gameplan, I don't expect them to score much more than 10 points, which is what they scored in their last meeting with Sumatra.

My prediction........Sumatra 40, Kalgoorlie 14

The Alabama Red Elephant Club faces off once again with it's long time rival, The Brisbane Bulldogs!!! Brisbane put a spanking on Bama in the regular season, that had the coaches on the AREC sideline scratching their heads in wonder. Ironically, the same thing happened last season, but Bama pulled out the playoff victory, which led to the AREC taking home the league trophy.

What's the deal??? When you look at both teams on paper, they are almost identical, both depth and talent wise. Maybe it has just been gameplanning, and strategy, or........maybe Brisbane has added a few ringers this season.? Either way, the AREC has it's hands full again, and is going to have to find an answer soon, or they will end up getting spanked yet again. We know the crew at Brisbane is looking for some revenge for last seasons playoff game!!! This should be a great game guys!!!!

I'm not really sure who will win this game ....so my prediction is it will go into overtime........ And of course, good luck to everyone in the playoffs!!!!

Yup, we just couldn't make any plays and you guys did, now win the whole thing so I don't feel so bad.

We will do our best. But Brisbane is damn good. Their bars are equal or better than us across the board. We will need to win the turnover battle I think. They have one of the best defenses I have faced too.

Thanks hawk. Your are very modest. Your D is no slouch either. It will be a game for the ages. And for the Record, we both now the bars don't mean a darn.

Yes, but I usually check them and see the Hawks with an edge or three. I just noticed that isn't the case against you guys. The more I think about it the more I think the last game (where you beat us) was not an upset at all, but just a better team beating a lesser one. I hope we can keep it close and get a break or two.

I am sure it will be a good one. No rest for the wicked. Time to burn the midnight oil and get the D ready.
