First off, good first round of the playoffs. Only one upset in a 4 vs 5 game with Disciples winning over Stuuttgart in a defensive struggle.
Alpha
1 vs 4: Dublin/Dresden matchup. This is becoming a pretty regular occurrence. Can we find a season where we don't play in the playoffs. Our teams have been around 4 seasons, and we've met in the playoffs 3 times already
I have to go with my team to win... sorry Buer. Let's say 55-38. Our offense is hard to stop, and Dresden's passing game is very potent. So, in the past, both our teams have been predicated on defense, but this year is a big turnaround. Will be fun (if we win). If we lose, I'll be sulking until next season
Dublin wins 55-12
2 vs 3: London squeaked by Malta in Week 2, 31-23. London hasn't been playing as strongly as they did most of the season, and I think they are no longer strong enough to handle Malta. Both teams are run first offenses with very competent defenses. Should be a low scoring affair. I say Malta wins, 27-16.
Malta wins 38-24
Zeta
1 vs 5: Wildcat/Disciples. Wildcat won the first game 41-17, and Disciples started out with a really terrible schedule, facing first 16-0 Dublin then 12-4 Stuuttgart, then 16-0 Wildcat. Since then, they've had a chance to rebuild their confidence and show they had what it takes to win in the playoffs. This game will feature a powerful offensive attack by Wildcat that Disciples' defense will not be able to handle. Disciples will need to have a successful run game on offense to control the clock and keep the Wildcat offense off the field to have a chance to win this. Wildcat 34-17.
Wildcat wins 63-0 (Guess saints didn't take my advice on how to play them...)
2 vs 3: Brussels vs Chernobyl. Brussels won the Week 13 matchup convincingly 42-26. Can Chernobyl overcome Brussels' return game and reduce their turnovers to win the game? If Brussels' return game can keep giving them good field position, and their defense can create turnovers and slow down Chernobyl's passing attack, it will end up just like the first matchup. I think Brussels' depth is too much for Chernobyl, and Brussels wins 31-30, with a big return being the difference in the game.
Chernobyl wins 31-25
Good luck everyone, and enjoy.
