OK, I'm going to try to do Zeta as well, even though I'm not too familiar with what's going on.
Alpha first, however, since that's my home turf
1. Dublin, 12-0.
- Where they stand: Alone in 1st.
- How to get the #1 seed: They have their destiny in their own hands. If they lose a game, they could end up tied with London and still have the #1 seed because of the win vs. London.
- Remaining Schedule: at Cork (2-10), Jellystone (0-12), at Sinsheim (3-9), Belgian (6-6)
- Prediction: 16-0, #1 seed.
2. London, 11-1
- Where they stand: Alone in 2nd, 2 game ahead teams behind them.
- How to get the #1 seed: They have to win out and have Dublin lose 2 games.
- Playoff Situation: The only team that can conceivably catch them is Dresden, as they have a game against Dresden and if London slips at all, Dresden could take the #2 seed.
- Remaining Schedule: Sinsheim (3-9), at Birmingham (6-6), Barcelona (2-12), at Dresden (9-3)
- Prediction: 15-1, #2 Seed
#1 seed is nearly impossible for everyone from here down, so I will be doing Playoff Situation rather than how they can clinch the #1 seed. The 9-3 teams need to win out, have Dublin lose their last 4, and London lose at least 3...
3. Malta, 9-3
- Where they stand: Tied with Dresden and Hollywood for 3rd at 9-3. They've beaten both Dresden and Hollywood, so they hold the tiebreakers.
- Playoff Situation: If they lose to Mandi's next week, Mandi's will be tied with them and have the tiebreaker. They hold the #3 seed in their own hands, and if they win out they guarantee at least the #3 seed. London has the tiebreaker against Malta, so to take the #2 seed, they need to win out and see London lose 3 of their last 4. London should beat Sinsheim and Barcelona with no trouble, so that is a longshot. They are playing for the #3 seed.
- Remaining Schedule: at Mandi's (8-4), Maranello (6-6), at Blackpool (1-11), Western Europe (7-5)
- Prediction: 13-3, #3 Seed.
4. Hollywood, 9-3
-Where they stand: Tied for 3rd at 9-3 with Dresden and Malta. Beat Dresden, lost to Malta.
-Playoff Situation: They get the #3 Seed if they win out and Malta loses another game. Also beat Western Europe, so they have tiebreakers against everyone but Malta within their reach.
-Remaining Schedule: at Belgian (6-6), Mandi's (8-4), at Maranello (6-6), Blackpool (1-11)
- Prediction: 12-4, #4 Seed
5. Dresden, 9-3
- Where they stand: Tied for 3rd with Malta and Hollywood, but have no tiebreakers as they lost to both teams. Hold the 5th seed currently.
- Playoff Situation: Dresden slipped against both Malta and Hollywood, and need one of them to lose a game while winning out to get a home game in the playoffs. With a game against London and Western Europe, it's going to be tough to win out, but not impossible.
- Remaining Schedule: at Maranello (6-6), Blackpool (1-11), at Western Europe (7-5), London (11-1)
- Prediction: 12-4, #5 Seed
6. Mandi's, 8-4.
- Where they stand: Alone in 6th, 1 game behind the 3 way tie for 3rd place, and 1 game ahead of Western Europe (with the tiebreaker).
- Playoff Situation: With both Malta and Hollywood on their schedule, they can possibly get a home playoff game... but they'll need other help. With a win against Western Europe, they have a tiebreaker and have a strong hold on the #6 seed. With wins against 2 of the 3 6-6 teams, it is very unlikely that they will end out of the playoffs. They need to win 2 games to clinch a playoff spot, and they will.
- Remaining Schedule: Malta (9-3), at Hollywood (9-3), Brighton (5-7), at Jellystone (0-12)
- Prediction: 11-5, #6 Seed.
7. Western Europe, 7-5
- Where they stand: Alone in 7th. One game ahead of 3 teams at 6-6. Have tiebreakers against two of the 6-6 teams, have yet to play Birmingham.
- Playoff Situation: To clinch a playoff spot, they need to win against Birmingham and win 1 other game, while at least one of the 6-6 teams loses a game along with beating Birmingham. Basically, it comes down to the Birmingham game for them. They win that, and they will likely have 9 wins and tiebreakers against all the teams below them. With games against Dresden and Malta, they could conceivably get a home playoff game if they win out, and end up 11-5.
- Remaining Schedule: Birmingham (6-6), at Barcelona (2-10), Dresden (9-3), at Malta (9-3).
- Prediction: 9-7, #7 Seed.
8. Birmingham, 6-6.
- Where they stand. They hold the 8th and final playoff spot by tiebreakers, as they've beaten the other two 6-6 teams.
- Playoff situation: To clinch, their magic number is 3. Any combination of wins for Birmingham and losses by the teams tied with them will win them the final playoff spot. Games against Cork and Sinsheim should be wins (although Cork should not be overlooked, as they have been close in most of their games, even against top teams). Western Europe will be a tough game, and London game will show where they stand against the top teams.
- Prediction, 8-8, #8 Seed.
9. Maranello, 6-6.
- Where they stand: Tied with Birmingham and Belgian for 8th. Have tiebreaker against Belgian, lost to Birmingham.
- How to make the playoffs: If they end up tied with Birmingham, they don't make the playoffs. They need to win more of their last 4 games than Birmingham. Western Europe also has a tiebreaker against them, so they have a very hard road to the playoffs. With their remaining schedule, I don't see it happening. Too many top teams left to play, but if they make the playoffs, they will beat some of those top teams and show they belong.
- Remaining Schedule: Dresden (9-3), at Malta (9-3), Hollywood (9-3), at Brighton (5-7).
- Prediction: 7-9, #10 in conference, out of playoffs.
10. Belgian Beers, 6-6
- Where they stand: In 3 way tie for 8th and final playoff spot. Lose tiebreakers to both teams they are tied with.
- How to make the playoffs: They basically need more wins than the guys they are tied with, as they have no tiebreakers against the 6-6 teams OR Western Europe. They will need to win at least 3 of their last four games. Beating Malta in Week 12 was a great start for them and shows they are capable of beating any team. Basically, it will likely come down to the week 16 matchup against undefeated Dublin. If they can defeat Dublin, they will probably be able to clinch a playoff spot... AND will play Dublin again. Beating Hollywood this coming week will almost guarantee them a playoff spot, as they should be able to win against Brighton and Jellystone. After beating Malta, who I think is better than Hollywood, they have shown they can do it. That game next week against Hollywood will be interesting.
- Remaining Schedule: Hollywood (9-3), at Brighton (5-7), Jellystone (0-12), at Dublin (12-0).
- Prediction: They lose to Hollywood and Dublin, and end up 8-8, losing a playoff spot because of the week 9 loss, and therefore the tiebreaker against Birmingham. 8-8, #9 out of the playoffs.
11. Brighton, 5-7
- Where they stand: Alone in 11th, one game out of 8th and final playoff spot.
- How to make the playoffs. They have a game against two teams at 6-6. If they can win both of those, plus the Jellystone game, they will put themselves in a position to have a chance to make the playoffs. If the beat Mandi's as well, I can't imagine them being out of the playoffs at 9-7. So they are still in it, but they need some big wins to do it, plus a little help, as Birmingham has a tiebreaker against them so they need to finish with a BETTER record than Birmingham.
- Remaining Schedule: at Jellystone (0-12), Belgian (6-6), at Mandi's (8-4), Maranello (6-6).
- Prediction: 6-10, out of the playoffs. Can't see them winning against Belgian or Mandi's, and the Maranello game on week 16 will be a meaningless game, so it won't matter who wins.
Sinsheim, I believe, is still mathematically in the hunt. But they need to win out, and get a LOT of help, as they have tiebreakers against NO ONE. However, they have games against London and Dublin, so I find their chance of making the playoff about 0.0000000000001%.
