Changes in the rankings are much smaller now that we're done removing preseason game results but there was still a swap at #1 and #2 for the second week in a row.
#1 -- Doinitin Djibouti defeated the Cairo Emperors by a score of 66-13 to regain the top spot, just barely ahead of LOL.
#2 -- As expected, LOL's 255-0 win over the Angola Pirates/Dragons didn't help with strength of record and they fall one spot.
After week 10, only one of these teams will be undefeated (unless it's a tie, then we'd have to throw both teams in the lion pit and merge any surviving players into one team) and will likely have the #1 spot for the rest of the season. Yes, #1 DD and #2 LOL play each other this week in an epic battle of two 9-0 teams, but unless you've been lost in the Sahara for the past few weeks, you already knew that. Moving on...
#3 -- Staying put is DeSWK, the only other undefeated team in the league. They've been solid all season and the 33-13 victory over the Rwanda Royal Knights was no exception. If they make it to week 15 without a loss, there's a little-known upstart team (ranked 30th earlier this season) that might have something to say about it.
#4 -- The Sierra Leone Stallions trampled the Congo Cripplers by a score of 55-17 and, at 8-1, are just a pig's fart behind the three undefeated teams. SLS quietly galloped (is that even possible?) into the top 5 in week 7 and should stay at least until weeks 12 and 13, at which time they could take over #1 or drop out of the top 10. Or, if there are any ties, we'd have to throw both teams in the lion pit and merge any surviving players into one team. Moving on...
#5 -- Another team not moving is the Angola Spider Monkeez, with a 34-30 win over the Nairobi Warthogs. Despite accusations that they aren't a real team and just play one on TV, the Monkeez have rolled to seven straight victories and are legitimate.
Rounding out the top 10, #6 Sahara defeated Zambia 37-7, #7 Seychelles Island moved up one after a 40-16 win against the Ethiopia Devils, #8 Somalia dropped one spot after a 13-19 loss to #10 Ghana, and #9 TLGoT increased their winning streak to one after a 68-35 win over Zimbabwe.
