Alpha Rundown
It's pretty much a toss up for the top spot in the power rankings between Barcelona and Sin City. Each team is playing a lower seed playoff hopeful, and each is projected to win by a decent margin. Moscow looks to continue their march up the standings with a predicted win over the Canary Cannis. The other game of note, and the one with the most playoff implications, is the match-up between Verviers Gauls and the Irish Car-Bombers. The records show that this one is capable of going to either team, that fact being backed up by the projected score: a close win for the Gauls. We'll see how that pans out on Monday. As for the rest of the match ups, there are a couple between teams that have little shot of making the playoffs and a few easy games for those still in the mix (Glasgow, for example). Also, I think Livorno vs. Monaco will be a little closer than the predicted score.

Zeta Rundown
Just as in Zeta, it's another toss-up at the top between Algarve and Normandy. Normandy should have no troubles dispatching the last place Baltimore Knights, and Algarve is expected to beat the playoff-hopeful Antelope Valley by a healthy margin. Just as quickly as they fell, Cybertron has come roaring back up the standings, winning two straight to put themselves in a playoff position, currently battling for the last spot with the likes of the Worms Bulls and the Edinburgh Highlanders. The are facing a highly explosive offensive team in Middlesbrough, although the predictor is saying that they shouldn't have too many problems getting their third straight win. Meanwhile, the team they are jostling with for that coveted eight spot, Edinburgh, faces a Constantinople team coming off a convincing win against Zabrze the previous week. It's predicted to be a well-fought match, with Edinburgh scraping out a much-needed win. Moving up the ranks, an upset has been predicted, with the Missouri Quicksand surprising the Matterhorn Marmots. Both teams are certainly capable of being the victor however. Salt Lake City should have no problems snatching up their second straight win, as they go up against the underdog Zabrze Warriors. Finally, a struggling Kickback Cavalier team looks to get back on the right track after losing two straight as they go up against the Worms Bulls, in a match predicted to go to the Cavaliers for a confidence-boosting 'W.'
-----------------------------------------------------------------

***I have made the edits to the rundowns and that will conclude this week's predictions/rankings. We've now passed the mid-way point of the season and things are really going to be picking up as the playoffs are looming. Good luck to all teams this week, I'll post the score updates Monday night as usual!

EDIT: I've updated the scores and the projector had another good week getting 15 of 16 right... It completely missed the game it got wrong too... Haha oh well. Next week's post should be up in an hour or two!

Ok Philly explain to me why Sin City is not in first. We have -1 strength of schedule but quality of play we are up by 6 on Barcelona. I really don't care to much, cause these rankings have made me laugh a number of times in the past but just out of curiosity I kinda wanna know.

QoP is a terrible, terrible measure. Completely fallible. Even SOR won't matter much in the end

Ofcourse, it generates interest and discussion, it's great, but someone should devise a more interesting way to compare teams...

SoR will end up(if all goes as planned) exactly equal for the top two teams of zeta at the last game of the regular season. And QoP won't be valid due to the way the teams are built. >_<

This is going to be a little long, sorry for the length... Just giving my reasoning here.

Just to me, even though I think that they are both terrible measures of team strength overall, I just took the lesser of two evils in a sense. I just throw them up there because I think they are interesting. The power rankings are made with no bias by me whatsoever, my team doesn't get any preferential treatment and I don't hold teams back just because I don't like them (not that I have any grudges, just saying). I think that QoP is sometimes may penalize a team if they don't blow out a team by as many as they should (i.e. a team wins by 100 points when they were predicted to win by 125). A win is a win. SoR just says that maybe a team only has the record they do because they've played the 5 worst teams in the conference and their record isn't indicitive of their skill. On the flipside a team could have a bad record because they've played the 5 best teams in their first 6 games or whatever. They're still a good team, not elite but their record doesn't show how well they can play... Odds are good that either of those scenarios aren't going to happen, but to a lesser degree maybe they could

Don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking either of you or anything like that... I take the standings as a base and use SoR/QoP as tiebreakers, that's it. I know they aren't perfect but taking the time to research every team week after week to see where they all stand would just take up too much time that I don't have in the first place (being a full-time college student and working ~35 hrs/week gives little time for anything else). I just hoped this would be interesting.

Oh don't worry, we're not attacking you. Only the concepts themselves

Also, the work and study does sound familiar for me -_-

The explanation is great thanks. I guess in the end the final standings and playoffs will be the final rankings. Still love when rankings come up though. Hopefully we can impress the judges this week.

thank you Phillies for taking the time to do this bro, like everyone else has mentioned, its something to make time go by, and if it wasnt for you, no one else will do it. thank you again. next week, give Sin the top spot, in a few weeks we will take it from them anyways.

next thing you know, people here will want to do away with the BCS and go to a playoff system.

another reason for this could be because our players are 3-4 levels below your guys yet our overall rankings are the same except for the receiving position yet we are still 8-0.

Hey Brazz can you stop posting posts that make me laugh so hard I almost choke. And I am sure your right that this highly techniqual rankings system took into account that you have lower leveled players then we do. Also you might want to know that moving up to 55 overall ranking take a little more then just a couple levels. I was just curious on why you guys where higher ranked then we are since we have hammered teams by almost double the score you guys have.

I am officially changing the rankings. What's we team unspoken is on, they will be #1! Nobody else... Quit whining it is a ranking system, if you want to be #1, make up your own ranking system!!! Brazz, your team is just better than unspokens, and he can't deal with it!
