Some pretty good match-ups this week, including the headliner, Rome visiting Florida.
#14 The Blackwater All-Stars (1-6) @ #16 Templar Knights (0-6) - Ya'll know the deal. Blackwater finally gets another win. Long drought for them. Templar might finally score a TD...but I doubt it.
#15 Ukraine Is Game To You (1-6) @ #7 Tonganoxie Shockers (4-3) - Fresh off the upset loss to Bratislava the Shockers come raging back with a vengeance against Templar, er, um, Ukraine. Templar, Ukraine, not much difference.
#13 Bialowieza Forest Wisents (2-5) @ #11 Prague Czechmates (3-4) - I'm calling for the upset here. Wisents squeak one out.
#1 Birmingham Bolts (7-0) @ Auschwitz Rebellion (3-4) - Kinda feel sorry for Auschwitz here. Two stompings in a row.
#12 Bratislava Chaos (3-4) @ #6 Trojan Rubbermen (4-3) - Full of confidence coming off the win against the Shockers, the Chaos travel to the Land of Hump. Unfortunately for the Chaos, the Rubbermen are the sort of team where they won't even have the courtesy to give the guy a reach around. Bastards. Rubbermen win...without lube.
#10 Battle Creek Mayhem (3-4) @ #9 Esik Eagles (3-4) - I might be wrong here, but I think Esik will sneak out of this one by about 7 points. This will be one of those good games.
#4 Izmir Immortals (6-1) @ #5 Coral Gables Hurricanes (6-1) - One of the games that isn't being talked about and one of the best games this week. The #1 rushing team against the #2 rush defense. To be honest, this game could go either way. Coral Gables is absolutely smashing the ball on the ground but Izmir is tied for 1st with Birmingham by only allowing 3 rushing TDs all season. Izmir holds Little Barry Sanders in check and wins through the air. Klarg Williams gets his ass handed to him though.
#2 Rome Colossus (7-0) @ #3 Florida State Warheads (7-0) - Wow, I really don't know where to go with this. Both these teams are evenly matched with Rome having the slight edge overall. But Florida is at home which evens the odds to zero. In every major statistical category, Rome and Florida are within the Top 5 with one exception and Florida holds the edge in pass defense. Both teams are going to get theirs as they are evenly balanced between running and passing. It's going to come down to strategy, gameplanning and turnovers. Florida has never beaten Rome and I have players on Rome. Due to past history, Rome is the monkey on Florida's back and I think history repeats itself. Rome on a last second FG or turnover.
