Instead of explaining the rising and falling teams, I'll explain the recent change to the formula and how things shook out.

Right now Warsaw is obviously the best team in Alpha, but there is no way for me to get them up there without significant research to determine their strength of schedule.
They've had a lot of impressive wins so far and they deserve the nod.

The rankings are significantly impacted by each team's schedule.
Furthermore, the results are greatly exaggerated when a teams play against the lowest level and gutted teams.
The best thing I could come up with to counter this was to identify the worst teams in throwing off the numbers and try to skew it back in the right direction.
In this league, I found three guilty teams and tagged them with an asterisk.
Each time a team plays them, they lose a point within the formula (not the final number).
This isn't perfect, but it makes sense from what I'm looking at.
It's easy to do and it's a step in the right direction.

Hopefully I don't have many more formula changes to make.
I suspect that once we get deeper into the season, this will all even out anyway.

I will come out with my own soon which will probably be this weekend so I have the proper amount of time to put in for research and we will be half way through the Season by then which should also help. At that point, people will be able to flame away at mine also as it is just part of the game.....lol. The owner of BSS used to do a pretty accurate one, but I can see he has stopped doing that now, to bad. Let me know if you would just like Alpha since I know the teams a lot better or you would like me to take a shot at Zeta to.

lol Warsaw doesn't mind not having top spot..as long as we are close enough to give the other teams a shake!!

Actually we play the two teams you have * next to after Moscow and the Lions. So if we are lucky enough to stay undefeated up to then after we play the two * teams that should put our score up.

But first we need to beat Moscow next..always love playing the Iron Curtain - we only beat them by 6 points last year, I know they have beaten us before and I believe we even tied a game a few season back!!

Should be tough!!

Smiling Assassin in EE A#1 right now does the best rankings ever.

They should get promoted this season and we should be enjoying his write-ups in season 10.

I'll probably continue throwing the numbers out there as I've got it to the point where it only takes me a few minutes. Also, if I keep tweaking it, the formula might someday become accurate.

The only other addition I was conisdering right now would be similar to the gutted teams factor.
I was thinking of also adding in a impressive victory factor that would add a point somewhere into the equation.
The only reason I haven't done it is because I need to figure out what an impressive win is.
Either that, or I could post possible impressive victories of the week and have agents vote if they felt it was impressive or not.
That way Ares would get extra credit for beating the Smexies and Black Feet

This week I would probably suggest
Balkan over Spartans: 61-17
Legal Smexies over DC Squashers: 46-13
Grid Iron Valor over Lefkada: 69-6
Knossos over Long Island Legion: 13-9
Spartan Hoplites over AAA: 40-16

The other option would be to make it an automatic point if you beat a team currently ranked higher than you. But I don't know which way would be better.

I'm a numbers guy and I'm trying to make it enjoyable for me as wlel as you guys.
Right now the challenge of trying to get it accurate is enough to keep me going.

Out of those 5 Balkan is the only one that I consider a real surprise to me with my current formulas. However, since losing a few I have a feeling they made some well needed AI adjustments. FYI, My rankings won't have #'s or anything next to them as their will to many factors that come into play for such numbers to mean anything really. So mine will just have a plain 1-16 ranking. It should be interesting to see the differences as my formulas go alot more into strength of schedule so far as wins being weighted by the team you beat. Like I said, I probably won't have the time to input all the #'s to this weekend, but it should be interesting when compared to yours. I personally think the Warlocks are #1 in Alpha & AZ Knights #1 in Zeta, but only time will tell!!!!

Mauler: thanks for the Ego boost. However, getting our chemistry up has been the biggest difference, the last couple games.
