In my opinion I think no. Especially if he goes to the Lions. Teams that bad shouldn't build around QB's. I kinda feel bad for him cuz he will never have a real chance to be successful but at the same time he's getting mad paid. I'd take 70sacks a season for 50+million. I think he'll end up like Kyle Boller. He'll show promise then end up as Marc Bulger's backup 6years later.

I hope Detroit does take him cuz then Curry falls to Seattle and we instantly have one of the best LB cores in football. Atleast until Hill leaves.

Coming from a Lions fan I'd say we should just take Jason Smith but unfortunately it looks like the Lions will take Stafford and the only way he will be successful in my opinion is if we bench him for at least a year and let him learn the system

btw Curry will go to the Chiefs

The Lions should draft Smith or Curry.
Then trade some picks to move up in the first round and take Sanchez.

But Stafford will never be more than a average QB.

Sanchez is the most overated crap QB in the draft. Hes so bad you guys just don't know, his arm is crap he only played 1 season at USC as a starter and well hes just bad.

I'm going to laugh at whoever drafts him.

This class of QB's is a crapshoot, if I was the lions I draft someone else and pass on the rookie QBs out of this class! It's going to be funny though cuz they have the worst luck with QBs, they are going to draft their next harrington ROFL

Denver is going to trade with the Chiefs at 3 and get Sanchez because everyone thinks Seattle is going to take him at 4. Seattle traded Julian Peterson away because they know something alot of teams don't. That either A)Curry is falling to 4 or B)They're trading down to mid round and getting Cushman or Clay Mathews Jr. Either way their first pick will be a LB. Seattle isn't going to take a QB because Hasselbeck has atleast 3years left and the QB crop just isn't that great(I do like Freeman though, would be a good fit for Mora's system). Also TJ Houshmanzadeh signed with Seattle specifically because Hasselbeck would be there for most of his 5years.

It's possible they trade down and get Freeman but I think Mora has a better chance trading for Vince Young next season then drafting a QB worth a squat this one.

Does it really matter? Whoever it is, it will probably be the wrong choice. It is the Lions after all.

Maybe the Lions go Curry #1.
Then with the later first they grab an OT.

Next season they get Colt McCoy or the Ok QB.
Hell I think Tebow is better than this years bunch.

Graham Harrell is this seasons sleeper.
People say he is a system QB...well the NFL is full of different systems.
Obviously he has the talent to throw the ball, or TT wouldnt have had THAT system.

He will be huge to whoever gets him.

I've never seen Stafford do anything special, he is Jeff George all over again.

"Graham Harrell is this seasons sleeper."
He has the arm strength of a malnourished 5 year old girl.

If the Browns want Sanchez so badly and he's there at 4 Seattle should trade their pick to Cleveland for Brady Quinn and the 5.

the draft is crap shoot, not just the QB's. i had friends in the industry who dealt with pro players off the field with stuff like the public appearance at super markets signings and such. the guy who spent the most time off field with them said some guys are very content, especially in the NBA, to just get the paycheck and the perks.

its a job and a lottery for a lot of these guys. they made the millions they never had and short timers disease hits some of them. no matter how much you test, time and watch them throw, you never know what $5 million will do to a guy.

This. Graham threw this season alone 2/3s of the amount Stafford has thrown in his entire collegiate career.

He'll be the next Cassell guaranteed

He'll be the next Kliff Klingsbury, along with all the other failed Texas Tech QBs. You can't run the offense they did against the athletes in the NFL.
