I should have clarified in the title...ALPHA pre-season analysis. Sorry Zeta, you'll have to find someone to work on yours.

Once again the teams in alpha are fairly evenly matched and it should be a nail bitting season with the last playoff spots up for grabs until the end.

M-Pirates - started off last season strong, then half way through the season starting getting the snot kicked out of em. This season looks like most of their guys are back. Average level looks to be around upper 30's for starters. Could be some issues late in the game as some of the back ups are a bit underpowered. Team: B Stadium: A+

Cards: last season got kicked around bad. Again looks like many returnees. Without actually adding everyone up, cuz I'm way to laz, umm, busy for that, looks like they are upper 30s. They do have a few near pro-level guys, but they make up for with some lower guys. Not gonna be much money for equipment this year. Team: B Stadium: D

Drunks: Moved up and an OK season last year. This year lots of returning guys. I would peg the team as mid 30s at the moment. They have some lower guys, but I'm guessing they are either bench warmers or special team guys since the Drunks have enough depth to cover the positions. Team: B- Stadium: B

Oslo: Still trying to get out of A, the second play off game snags them for the second season in a row. This year, looks like a few changes/additions to the roster. Close to 40 for level, but offensive line not nearly as hardy as that, could be trouble in long games. Team: B Stadium: C

Bastards: Back to A after a quick visit to AA. Level around 28, but a few ringers in some key spots. Lots of depth. Team: C Stadium A

Seahawks: Fresh up from BBB. Average level we'll call 30, cuz they have some fairly low guys and some higher level guys. They will soon find out that the learning curve in A is rather steep. Team: C- Stadium: B

Devils: Another move up team. Looks like they did some heavy recruting off-season, call it upper 30s for level. Defense looks a little hardier than the offense. Could have trouble scoring late in game. Hope those 40s have their equipment, cuz they probably won't be getting any here. Team: B Stadium: B-

Dragons: Decent season last year, but taken out in first round of playoffs. Been some movement here in the offseason, but they have a few more days to recover. Gonna call level about 40. Depth needs work, especially on offense. I suspect there will be some recriuting going on, or the QB is going to be trying to figure out how to those grass stains out. Team: B- Stadium: B

Ghosts: Another move up team. A little bit of recruitment, takes em up to about 30ish in overall level. Depth ok, but they are going to be hurting when the back ups come in. Team: C- Stadium: B

Dynamites: (why does this team remind me of old 70s sitcoms??) Anyway, Great season with a 1st round loss last year, those quirky playoffs. Lot of returnees, gonna put them at low 30s, but a sprinkling of slightly higher. Team: C+ Stadium: A

Fusion: Great team mascot, obviously distracted the competition for a flawless BBB season, well, until they lost in playoffs. Say low 30s for level, all around balanced with good depth. Team: C+ Stadium: B

Turff: Not such a great season last year, probablyy thatt stutterr madee itt hardd too gett thee playss rightt. Changes a plenty in the roster have trashed chem for a good part of the season. Seen a couple other teams try to buy championships, hasn't worked well. Buy equipment for you? Sorry, no budget for that. Level about 40ish. Team B Stadium: B-

D-Pirates: Hmmm, no distracting mascot, how did they have a perfect season? Gonna say mid 30s for level, but might be lower if they don't boost. Been some recruiting, might cost a few close games early. Team: C+ Stadium C-

Hippos: Gotta love the name. Level gonna say upper 20s although it is probably slightly higher, but those lower guys are gonna be a liability. No particular strength or weakness. Team: C Stadium: D

Assassins: Some recruiting, but still around 30ish for level. O-line looking kind of holey right now as is pass defense. I expect they will likely make a few more additions fixing the holes, but trashing their chem for the season as well. No equipment for you. Team: C- Stadium: F+

Destroyers: Oh my, they look like they are imploding. Just a tid bit, but a L33 CPU is no match for a well built player 25. Even if they recruit up the kazoo to improve the team, their chem will not recover before playoffs. Level, ummm, not going to try to estimate. Team: D+ Stadium: C+

No team was particularly head and shoulders above the rest, so no one rated a team A. These observations are based on the way the teams looked this afternoon, recruiting could radically change the way some of these teams look (as well as their chem). Same for stadiums, ticket sales are kinda messed up cuz of the longer pre-season, but if the sections aren't there now, they won't be there later. Any way, these are just for fun, and if you take them too serious, shame on you!

I may be intoxicated but I will have to say I agree with your Athens evaluation. We are talent wise a defense minded team. On another note quite a few of our level 40 guys we had last season (which is a big factor in why we won) and most of the new guys have eq so we should be ok (I hope).

I dont think were gonna recruit anymore. Figure just stick with our guys even if that does mean another season in A which is fine. If you ask my opinion our stadium is a F- PURE FAILURE! But our owner is workin on it

There is nothing your owner can do about it now. He priced your tickets way too low, your probably sold out most of your tickets, and you are stuck at about $7 million. You'll only have about $5 million left over (after concessions) for equipment and stadium.

Turff Chem is low, but its not about buying a team, just hard to get guys to return after a bad season when you get bumped to a uncapped league. Just looked for the best guys I could get. Good thing for the long off season and extended preseason, should help us some. Oh, and if you plan on doing this for the season just want to say thanks ahead of time. Was always great stuff from goldie so would be nice to see it keep going.

Good stuff. I don't know how good you project a C+ to do in this league, but we've always been underrated because of our levels. I would caution looking past Liverpool.

Thanks for the write-up.
