You have a very unique and special opportunity about to be blessed upon you. Read the following very carefully. Then re-read it to make sure you understand how this impacts you. This is a once in a lifetime event.

As many of you may already know, Canada used to be run by a parliamentary government. Take note of the term 'used.' Effective immediately, LXA has decided that Canada will be ruled by an Emperor. After much deliberation, it has been decided that you peons will be given the very unique opportunity to actually lobby and vote for our next Emperor! To eliminate the long and drawn out process of selecting the candidates, two most worthy representatives have been selected for you:

1. Wendigo, GLB Offensive Delegation (LXA)

2. Solomon Grundy, GLB Defensive Delegation (LXA)

The election for our next Emperor will be held on the final day of the regular season. You will only be allowed to vote once. A failure to vote on your part will only reduce your one and only chance to effect change.

Unfortunately, you may have already noticed that Grundy's public relations staff had already started campaigning against Wendigo:

In fairness to Grundy's constituent, I have asked them, Grundy's staff, to cease posting any additional politically motivated threads until this message was announced. They are now free to continue whatever political campaign they so desire.

To help you make your decision, both candidates have agreed to the following:

1. They will announce their running mates and intended cabinet members. Remember: You are voting not only for the candidate, but his entire cabinet.
2. They will present to you, their acceptance speech and some basic information about their plans as future Emperor. Based on this information, you should be able to participate in.........
3. They have agreed to have at least one question and answer session, to be facilitated by me.

To assist you in getting the most out of this process, I have included a short frequently asked question section below:

1. What happened to the current government?
Two words: Death Ray.

2. Why didn't I get the opportunity to nominate a candidate?
You are not LXA. You are not empowered to make such significant decisions. You are lucky to even have a vote during the final election.

3. How do I become a cabinet member or a running mate for one of the candidates?
You could ask the respective candidates to select you, but I highly doubt someone that is not from LXA will be selected.

4. How can I help my candidate win the election?
Show your support. Money is the best, but promoting their greatness in the forums is also acceptable.

5. What about this 'question and answer' session?
In the very near future, I will post more information on this event. Essentially, I will send out a request for you to PM me with any questions you would like both delegates to answer. I will choose the best of the group, post the question list to the forum, and they will then have the opportunity to answer the questions in that forum.

6. Will there be other events?
I fully expect that there will be many more events. Both candidates will probably have their public relations staff submit a myraid of reasons/promotions to encourage you to vote for their candidate. Just remember, this is politics and politics can get messy.

7. How will the election/voting process work?
On or before the election day, I will post a thread requesting each A4 member to give his or her vote. After the day has passed, the votes will be tallied and the Emperor will be coronated.

8. How long is the Emperor's term limit?
Term limit?!!?!!! The Emperor of Canada serves an infinite term.

Well, you could either participate and enjoy being part of a very special event OR you could type up another 'good game' thread. The choice is yours....until an Emperor is elected.

9. What if I still have questions after reading this message?
Did you see anywhere in this thread that stated that your questions would be answered? I thought so.

If you ask me the leader of the defensive delegation should be someone with a couple golden trophies for most sacks (something Grundy is missing). Someone like Esmeralda Bell of the Bootleggers

Sorry, but the leader would naturally come from LXA. After all, we are going to conquer all of Canada, then the world, so might as well vote. We are being generous after all in even letting you vote.
