blocking VA with +0.5% is reasonable for OL once you reached natural attribute of 68
strength, speed and agility VAs with +0.3% are reasonable for OL once you reached natural attribute of 74

When you are pass these marks a VA point worth equal or more to a SP point.

A question: Does anyone know if the Clutch VA have any influence for a guard ?

Pass Blocking is the best VA out there. However for a guard you probably have no choice but to use nerfed VAs.

I think Showboat Blocker could be a good choice for interior linemen. Pancakes were way up last season and causing that much of a morale loss could have a big influence.

I'm thinking of Clutch too (after Pass Blocker is maxed), but what if the mysterious bonus is just a greater chance of SAs triggering. Great if you're a power back, but garbage if you're an OT. Anyone have any solid experience one way or another?

I've led the team in pancakes the past 4 years. So you think it might be a good choice for my LOT? I wasn't thinking about it until you put it that way. Though I'm sure a lot of my pancakes come from special teams, but I've never looked for them in the PBP.

Your OT had 178 pancakes last season. Think of what would happen if he caused a 75% greater morale loss on each of those pancakes.

I'm not sure how big a role morale plays in the game overall, but I would think that at high levels it could be a big difference. Lower morale could lead to DEs performing much worse overall after they'd been pancaked a few times.

I'm maxing out Pass Blocking and Showboat Blocker... After that I am considering Red Zone Freak. Thoughts?

seeing as pass blocker and clutch both activate on 3rd and 4th downs, it should be interesting to see their effects. ive split my vet pts on 14 pass blocker and 14 clutch.

+0.5% to blocking is still significant if you built your player well - should be getting you +5-6.

Pass Blocker gets +2% to 2 stats, to "8 times the bonus" as +0.5% to blocking straight up.

But 2nd and 10, 3rd and 4th down passing? Go look at your play by play. Unless your team passes a lot, I highly doubt that these situations constitute 1/8th of your offensive plays.

Sure, the value of 3rd/4th/2nd and 10 may be more than 2nd and short or 1st down, which skews things a bit, but still, I stand by that +0.5% blocking > pass blocker for anybody except LOT and possible LG if you're in a tough league with good DTs.
