Mayhaps if you go to the forum that I linked above, you will find all kinds of useful threads, advice, questions.

As well as look at one of the links in the top part of the page where it says FAQ/Guides, good places to start imo.

It would be a whole lot more interesting if we weren't stuck in this dead zone of an off-season...man you came in the door at the wrong time....

I would suggest trying to get signed on to a pee-wee league team..but tbh you will have to hang on a few more days to actually see much fun in it.
