Today we remember the career of Trevor Fergason. A great RB,teammate, and friend. Trevor began his career on April 23, 2008. Signed by the Sudan Falcons, Fergason had trouble playing in the GLB leagues, and struggled mightily in his 1st season. But in week 13 of Season 2,Trevor had his 1st of many legendary plays. Causing 6 missed tackled, Trevor had a 21 yard rush for a TD, marking the 1st of many TD for this young man.

Without much luck or playing time, Trevor seeked other opportunities, and he found some in his new team, the Odessa Panthers(Originally named the Bay Area Bastards). Beginning his 1st of what would eventually be 4 seasons with the Bastards, Trevor shared playing time with his long time friend, Brett Snyder.I didn't take long for Trevor to spark the offense. In week 3, Trevor had his 1st touchdown of the season, a 45 yard gain.

That season, Trevor rushed for over 740 yards, and would keep doing so for the next four seasons. Assassin Jack Tatum(Season 8 teammate) : "Trevor is that guy you know you can give the ball to when you need that 1 TOUGH yard.". Entering season 4, Trevor surpassed his teamate Brett Snyder and earned the starting HB role for the Bastards. This deadly combination of a power/speed back reminded many of the legendary Jim Brown. Along with Brett, Trevor and the Bastards went 18-2 that season, but fell short in the final game. Never the less, Trevor had become a household name. In Season 4, Trevor rushed for over 1500 yards, 18 TD. 111 Broken Tackles, and 6.8 average. He was the MVP of the team that year, and made a repeat of his illustrious season the following year.In the opening regular season game of season 5, Trevor continued where he finished last season, getting 3 TD and 200 yards on the ground in a 80-52 win, including this 80 yard gain.

That season was significant for Trevor, as he would meet teammates that would cross roads again in season 8 with the Alberta Mounties, players like Chad Wolf,Whitey Ford, and Hands McJobbs.Hands McJobbs says : "I'll miss Trev the most in the locker room, the guy could always make me laugh. We learned a lot together. I will see him on the golf course in a few seasons."In the first six games of that season, Trevor ran for over 800 yards and 16 TD's, and the team, began on a 6-0 record.Among the highlights of that span was this 88 yard gain.

Trevor finished the year with 1600+ rushing yards, a 9.2 average, and 29 all around TD's.
Unfortunately, Trevor and the Bay Area Bastards were once again eliminated from the playoffs. In season 6, the Bastards lost most of their players, leaving Trevor and Brett to carry the impossible load. The Bastards went 9-7 that year. Pressured by the fans and the media, Trevor and Brett ,who had become brothers that season, packed their things and headed to the Alberta Mounties. Brett Snyder:"Trev was is like a brother to me, I'm really going to miss standing next to him in the locker room. A complete Power House on the field and as a friend." In his darkest year ever(season 7), Trevor and the Mounties had trouble finding players, and fell to a horrendous 1-21 record, a franchise low. The following year, the Mounties stepped it up, filling all the holes in their depth, and went to a franchise high 25-2 record, Trevor becoming what once was impossible. Achieving immortality as a Mountie, Trevor had career numbers, reaching 2800 yards on the ground, 6 receiving TD, 51 Rushing TD, and a franchise record 12 average, a record that still stands high today. One of his best plays of the season, a 92 yard gain.

John Metsy(season 8 teammate):"He played with such a passion, and for a 1-15 player to go 25-2 all the way, he must have a heck load of endurance, power, and heart". Alberta was in for a surprise, for in the 3rd game of the playoffs, the underdog Grizzlies stunned the Canadian Western Conference by beating the Mounties 30-55. A few weeks later, Trevor Fergason announced his retirement, which shocked the GLB community, for he had just had a career year.(A statement from his agent) "I tried talkin him out of it, but he felt it was his time. Looks like he won't ever get that trophy. Too bad though, he was all time great player". Whitey Ford, a long time teammate, had this to say:"Whitey Ford :"Playing with Trev was a dream, talk about a team player.". And the joker, Paris Hilton, said :"I want to sit on his face!!".
So now the Mounties move on to season 9, this time with 1 less RB. They have hired a new RB, Wayniac Maniac. Sure, it's easy to replace a positoned player. But it will be damn hard to replace a teammate, a gifted athlete, a friend, like Trevor Fergason.
