Hello and welcome to this week's Power Rankings for Eastern Europe AA #4.

After two straight weeks of Co-#1s sharing the spotlight we finally have things more or less settled down as we head into the final 4 weeks before the playoffs. Odessa proved that they are the definitive #1 team in AA4 after a solid win over the Tricity Hares, and we have a new member of the Top Ten after the Baker Mountain Bucks continued their downward spiral by dropping their 5th straight.

My Power Rankings rely heavily on recent history to determine where you stand. A good record is also paramount but there might even be a bit of a disparity between teams with similar records depending on how tough their recent opponents have been.

Note: I'll continue to use my current system for the rest of Season 2 but beginning with Season 3 I'll be using a slightly modified system which will take last 4 Margin of Victory weighted against the W% of each specific team you faced in order to get a better feel for how well a team is performing. This should eliminate mathematical ties. And don't worry, you essentially get a 0 modifier by blowing out teams with no wins or 1 win.

So, without further ado:

The Top Ten

1. Odessa Falcons (12-0) Last Week (LW): #1
Ladies and Gentlemen, your Eastern Europe AA #4 Power Rankings #1 team: The Odessa Falcons. The Falcons now stand alone atop the Power Rankings and Zeta Conference by knocking off all of their competitors. Their last game of consequence is also the last game of the year, a contest against Top Ten team, the Fehervar Enthroners. until then they have a soft schedule, beginning this week with the Chernobyl Radionuclides.

2. Krakow Cows (12-0) LW: #3
As the only other unbeaten team in AA4, it only makes sense that the Cows are here. They face a rising challenger this week against the Enthroners, a game neither team can afford to dismiss. Assuming the Cows make it out unscathed, look for them to ride out the rest of the season and enter the playoffs at 16-0.

3. Tricity Hares (11-1) LW: #1
In the Battle of the Unbeatens, one team had to lose and unfortunately it was the Hares. They only drop to #3 though, a spot they've been in before and have a good chance of holding on to as they only have a single game worth mentioning left on their schedule: A May 24th contest against #4 Warsaw Warriors.

4. Warsaw Warriors (11-1) LW: #4
The Warriors pull out a squeeker against the Haquenau Coyotes, scoring during a 4th quarter 2 minute drill to pull out the victory and retain their #4 spot. They can ill afford to conduct their game in a similar manner as they face the strong London Head Hunters in the Game of the Week.

5. Dallas Smoke Stacks (10-2) LW: #5
A dominating win over the NISSA Dauphins sees the Smoke Stacks remain at #5 before their big game against the Moscow Bears. Assuming they pull out the victory, look for the team from Dallas to ride into the playoffs on a 14-game winning streak.

6. Minsk Ninjas (10-2) LW: #7
The Minsk Ninjas move up a spot to #6 after winning their 4th straight, a 22-0 contest over the International Players. They face the Baker Mountain Bucks this week, and hope to extend the hapless Bucks' losing streak to 6 and raise their winning streak to 5.

7. London Head Hunters (10-2) LW: #6
The Head Hunters drop a spot, despite winning a close one over the St. Petersburg Storm. This week they are in the spotlight as they go up against the 11-1 Warsaw Warriors as the teams in Zeta struggle for playoff positioning. The winner of this matchup will go far in determining who represents Zeta in the AA4 Championship Game.

8. Fehervar Enthroners (9-3) LW: #8
The Florida Buccaneers posed no challenge to the Enthroners as they rattled off their 5th win in a row and hold on to their #8 spot in the Power Rankings. They face their toughest challenge of the season as they look to break the Krakow Cows' unbeaten streak and prove that they are a team worth worrying about come playoff time.

9. Tallaght Outlaws (9-3) LW: #9
A win over the Charleston Roadwarriors brings the Outlaws current win streak to 4 and lets them keep their #9 ranking. They face a struggling Leicester Lynxes this week before squaring off in their last remaining challenge in the Enthroners in their May 22nd matchup.

10. Volgograd Berserks (7-5) LW: #11
Welcome to the Top Ten Volgograd! The Berserks inch into this spot with a win over the Subotica Scorpions and look to maintain their spot as they face off against the C-Town Hoodlums this week. Their remaining schedule is anything but soft so staying in the top 10 won't be easy. Best of luck!

Holding on to a Playoff Spot
11. Moscow Bears
12. Grodno Buckaroos
13. Carluke Cobras
14. Baker Mountain Bucks
15. Bratislava Vampires
16. Belgium Warthogs

Fighting for a Playoff Spot
17. International Players
18. London Dolphins
19. France Fire
20. C-Town Hoodlums
21. Moscow Vandals
22. Haquenau Coyotes

Need Improving

24. Subotica Scorpions
25. Prague Panthers
26. NISSA Dauphins
27. Charleston Roadwarriors
28. Florida Buccaneers

Happy to be sitting at no.2 behind a very good Odessa team!

Hopefully we'll see off our last big challenge this week and all but secure HFA. Smoke Stacks are looking impressive, great streak you have going guys!

Warsaw vs The Head Hunters will be a good game. Hey Moontayle you know what would be cool is if somehow you could preview the game of the week and give your predictions and a analasis of the game. Just an idea i know you already spend alot of time working on this and hate to ask you for more but it would be a realy nice addition.

As much as I'd like to, I don't see it in the future. Maybe if interest in this forum and the Power Rankings in general picks up. You guys are deadly quiet compared to the AAA2 forums.

This one will be interesting. From gameplanning for them both in the last week, I know how tough both these teams are. Still, I think Warsaw has the edge. Their defense matches up very well with the Headhunters' offensive strengths and they should be able to move the ball reasonably well.

My prediction -- Warsaw 20, London 10.

Why no hype for the "Battle for the Bottom of the Barrel"? No breakdown for St. Petersburg vs. Sidney? This could be the game of the year!

SP has held two very good teams to a total of 19 points the last two games so I expect them to win outright against a team that would get relegated if they weren't already in the lowest league of EE.

From a pure player standpoint i like to think we have a very slim advantage (over the milkdudes) but if we would go all the way and meet there im not sure if this would be enough.
another thing is, at least the hares, warriors and headhunters are not going to like idea of us making it to the final (so i guess its not going to be a fun time during the playoffs) ... thats what u get for being the #1 seed but someone has to do the ungrateful jobs.

Good Luck Warsaw. I feel like we have pretty identical teams. This game is for the 3rd seed in the playoffs. Could come down to a field goal.

number 10!
the volgograd berserks could finish 11-5 by winning their last six in a row and claim the 5th seed. i don't we'll take the championship, but we definitely won't be pushed over by any of the zeta elites.
