Picking up on another thread, I agree that we should have a power ranking. Probably start with a power ranking for each conference and then one overall ranking as well. It would be great to agree the same formula across ALL of the AA#2.

Would like to start the discussion of with, what I believe, is quite a good formula I found in one of the forums (see below). Let's discuss and agree ...

This Power Ranking considers 3 categories and averages a team's ranking based on those statistics. Win percentage rank, scoring differential rank and strength of schedule.

Win Percentage Rank considers teams win (1pt)+ties(.5pt)/#games played to calculate win percentage.

Scoring Differential Rank is simply points scored minus points allowed for the season.

Strength of Schedule (S.O.S) considers the sum total of the win percentages of all the teams played to date divided by number of games played.

Overall Rank is based on the average of all three ranks.

You haven't been forgotten - I just haven't had time to look at it yet ... would obviously prefer for somebody within Zeta to do it thoguh

you made a great work here , about power ranking , about formulas not sure there is any perfect formulas ,but post of the time a team A who beat a team B should be ahead in the ranking , you could take your formula as a base for your ranking then adjust with matchups
just my 2cents

Well, Hollinger's NBA power ranking formula might be a start, even though it's for a different sport.

RATING = (((SOS-0.5)/0.037)*0.67) + (((SOSL10-0.5)/0.037)*0.33) + 100 + (0.67*(MARG+(((ROAD-HOME)*3.5)/(GAMES))) + (0.33*(MARGL10+(((ROAD10-HOME10)*3.5)/(10)))))

SOS = Season Win/Loss percentage of team's opponents, expressed as a decimal (e.g., .500)

SOSL10 = Season Win/Loss percentage of team's last 10 opponents, expressed as a decimal (e.g., .500)

MARG = Team's average scoring margin

MARGL10 = Team's average scoring margin over the last 10 games

HOME = Team's home games

HOMEL10 = Team's home games over the last 10 games

ROAD = Team's road games

ROADL10 = Team's road games over the last 10 games

GAMES = Team's total games
