Ok, my guard on this team is the starter, and has the highest strength, highest blocking, second highest agility, near the highest in vis/con and he is 5th in pancakes. Another guard with MUCH worse stats has twice as many pancakes as I do. It's getting frustrating not being able to get any pancakes. I look at players on other teams and they have near 100 and I'm sitting here at 16. I don't let anyone by me, but still, neither do those other high pancaking blockers. What do I need to do to get more pancakes? I'm level 23.

86 STR
63 BLK
50 AGI
38 VIS
34 CON

others on the team have worse stats yet more pancakes.... even backups have more than me

First off, Pancakes are almost completely irrelevant.

If I had to guess, I would say that your stamina is so low that you get worn down quickly. Coupled with the fact that you are the starter, you are too low when it comes to in-game energy to pick up pancakes besides at the beginning of games. The back up comes in when everyone is winded and quickly picks up a few pancakes because he is fresh.

My best guess.

Also against who you play, maybe they jacked there pancake stats against gutted team or cpu teams? Also how many points you have in your pancake blocking attribute could effect it.

Most pancakes happen on special teams.

As a starter, you play against the opposing starter - tends to even things out.

Serious question: the morale hit from pancakes is insignificant then? I mean, although hard to determine, it's got to play into it doesn't it?

Still, I've noticed pancakes can actually be somewhat counterproductive, in the lower leagues anyway. For example, on many occasions I've observed a blocker disengage from a pancaked player, leaving the pancaked player wide open enough to make an easy play when he recovers in time. Of course, this with slow skill player targets, so there is time to do this. Kind of ironic.

I am seeing more value in pancakes this season. I think they will become relevant in the future. Still equal competition usually means less pancakes.

+1

if the backups are playing more on special teams, that would explain why they have more pancakes. you end up with OT's pancaking CBs on kick coverage.

i don't think pancakes are irrelevant, a well-timed pancake can certainly help on a running play, they just tend to be overrated because they're the only stat that we can see, and their morale effect is tough to measure.

main thing is your guy opening holes for the runner, and protecting the passer? if so i wouldn't sweat the pancakes (ew).
