Screwed by CIC is the wrong word. Screwed by the lack of any sort of system to accommodate for this (such as voiding all of CIC's wins) would be better.

Bort really needs to get on that, and void any wins by the team that had to gut mid season for whatever reason.

Actually, our playoffs started against portland. A loss there would have eliminated us, since we would be 6-8 and portland 8-6 with the H2H.

So, yeah.

Say we win out and Samoa loses 1. That will be ANOTHER team screwed because Samoa lost to CIC early in the season.
Had there been no gutting, our game vs them would be a challenge and not another blowout..... THANKS FOR GIVING US HOPE CIC!!
But who wants to win like that?? Not me really... I believe in earned wins.

you can always intentionally take a dive vs the convicts and make it even

But seriously. I probably stand to lose the most from the CIC thing, and have the most right to be pissed...and I bear no ill will towards Dpell. He had to do what he had to do; real life comes first. I fully understand what he did. It is unfortunate, sure...but it isn't his fault that Bort hasn't addressed this kind of thing yet.

Not to mention, I could have won one other game at some point in the season and not had to worry about it. I didn't do as good of a job planning this season, and that's why I'll miss the playoffs if I do. I'm not going to blame the CIC loss, because I have at least 6 other losses this season.

Sun Devils may be a beneficiary of the timing of our CIC game, but it's basically a wash when you take a look at who everyone played in Alpha week one. Of all the teams in the 5-10 positions right now, we had the toughest matchup by far. We were also dealing with massive chemistry issues at the time.

I'm on another team that's only one game behind a 4-way tie for second place, and it probably won't get a home game in the playoffs. We had the only undefeated team in week one, and the rest of them played cupcakes.

Strength of schedule is just part of the game. Invalidate wins from mid-season gut jobs, and you might as well invalidate all week one games while you're at it. Personally, I prefer to just play the hand I'm dealt and move on.

I disagree. The whole idea of playing 15 games against the same opponents the other 15 teams in your division play is to see who the best of the 16 teams is. Luck of the draw shouldn't play in during weeks 2 to 16, since the league was not set up to account for it in those weeks. The first week is luck of the draw, though. Really, though, I just play the hand I'm dealt too. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to say something when the deck seems to be a bit off despite everyone having the same chance of suffering due to an extra 2 in the deck.

I also think the games need to be invalidated because it totally screws up league stats. That's 400-500 yards that an HB may not get, 15 TDs a QB may not get a chance to throw. And yes, I think stats from the interleague game should be tossed too.

This isn't something that is going to ruin my experience or anything, but it still needs addressing.

He does have a point though, if it comes down to a tie breaker or 1 game, how significant is that interconference game? One team plays WSI, one team plays the Bandits.

That is a better argument then when, where or how a team chooses to gut themselves in a Pro League.
