If an improving Beantown team can upend the Chihuahuas next game, it looks like a 3 way tie for the 4th seed in the west is pretty likely (pretty much the only toss-up in there is LB vs. The Avalanche, and I'm assuming CCIA has too much for Virginia). Anyway, what happens if we end up with a 3 way tie for 4th.

In this scenario, Virginia, Mighty, and Long Beach could all be 11-5, each going 1 and 1 against the other two). How would that shake out?

Happened last season in BBB11 with Sleepy Hollow, Iowa and Louisiana State with all at 15-1:

3 way tiebreaker with 1-1 all is total points scored.

It'd be:
Virginia 1335
Mighty 1308
Long Beach 1181

If the season ended today and that scenario occurred. . .

Total points. We(Virginia) lost the #4 Seed to the Gladiators last season by 23 points

Yikes...looks like it could be pretty darn close...I'd say we'll probably score the most points out of that group over the next two, but I don't know if it will be enough to catch up. Well, lets see what happens next week before I start sweating the points too much...

Playoff Seeding Tiebreakers

When two or more teams have the same regular season record, seeding comes down to the following tiebreakers.

To determine the winner of a tie within a Conference the following Tiebreakers go into effect:

1. If there are only 2 teams tied (same record), higher seed is the winner of the head-to-head match up.

1. If there are more than 2 teams tied (same record), then it's based upon these factor in this order:
1. Number of head-to-head wins against the other tied teams with the same record.
2. Number of total points scored.
3. Number of total points allowed.

Now do they count total points up to 255 or do they count all points? For example, one game LB scored 336 points according to the play-by-play info, but it was recorded as a 255-0 win.

You can find your total points when you go to the homepage of our League and click on Western Conference. Then click on Conference Leaders(team stats) and it will be under the 'Other' tab.

You'd think points difference would be a better way than just points scored.

They count real scores -- even if over 255. Bort says the 255 is just a display issue (though it has been around forever).
