Since everyone knows the basic order of the power rankings I decided to post this instead as this is really the battle.

We have 3 teams tied at 9-4 and fighting 4,5,6 place. The Bears, Sandlot and Cats are fighting it out and of course want their 4th spot for the home playoff game. Other than that it's really key to not get that 6th spot. While anything can happen you really don't want to play any of the top 3 teams and right now that 6th spot would get the Spartans in round 1 and an almost sure loss.

Chicagoo Bears- they will win their next 2 with no problem. They have an interesting matchup in the final week vs. the Washington Warriors. The Warriors are going to make the playoffs but could cause problems for the Bears in the final week which could drop them into the 6th spot and a rematch vs. the Spartans who just beat them 66-10 last week.

Arlington Sandlot- they look to have the toughest schedule remaining of the 3 teams here. They play the Snaps tonight in what should be a good battle. They then get the Trash Talkers which doesn't look to be a good matchup and finish up with the Dragon Farm who are fighting for the 8th playoff spot. If the Sandlot can beat the Dragon farm and Snaps they should be able to hold onto the 5 seed which would match them up with either the Bears or Cats. The Sandlot beat the Cats by 2 and lost to the Bears by 3 so either matchup would be a good one.

Glasgow Cats- the Cats will finish at 11-5 as they have 2 easy wins left (Cavaliers and Gold Rush) and a loss against the Spartans coming in 2 days.

It's going to be a good finish between these teams to see who can stay out of the dreaded 6th playoff spot. I see the Sandlot as possibly the team that falls into that spot as both them and the Cats have 1 guaranteed loss in the next 3 but the Sandlot have 2 other battles in which they could drop 1 of them easily.

The last battle is for the 8th playoff spot (also known as the one and done spot). The Wolverines currently sit in the 8th spot but could fall if they lose to the Snaps in 2 days. They will lose their last game of the season to the Trash Talkers so one more loss would cost them a playoff spot. The Dragon Farm sits at #9 and needs at least 1 loss by the Wolverines that would tie their records up. The Dragon Farm will win their next 2 games but then have to battle and have to beat the Sandlot in the final game to put the pressure on the Wolverines.

I see the Wolverines winning the next 2 before dropping a game to the Trash Talkers in the final week. But the Sandlot will beat the Dragon Farm in the final week which will seal the deal for the Wolverines getting the 8th playoff spot.

I take it that via these rankings the Warriors are going to be considered the 7th seed? I find this highly possible. While it would also be a One and Done, its a step up from last season's 8th place seed. There is a SMALL hope in the back of my mind that we will end in the 5th or 6th slots, but that just might take a miracle!

Alright here we go...

Last weeks rankings will hold true this week:

1. Gridiron Greats
2. EuroTrash Talkers
3. Stafford Spartans
4. Chicagoo Bears
5. Arlington Sandlot
6. Glasgow Cats
7. Washington Warriors
8. Wolverhampton Wolverines

I-4 are set.

The Cats will win the games they are expected to, and face the Spartans in the first round of the playoffs.

The Sandlot has no chance of loosing either their game against the Snaps or the Dongs. They will finish in 5th.

The 7th and 8th seeds are locked in by their schedual. They will win the games they are supposed to and lose the games they are supposed to.

I stand by my rankings

Even if by some miracle we could beat the Spartans, we'd still be playing the Spartans. Great.

God damnit.
We're projected at 9 by everybody. 9 is such a crappy seed, JUST missing playoffs...

I know it sucks, the cats missed the playoffs last year in the same position. And honestly your team is good enough to compete with some of the teams that did make it. You guys just blossomed a bit to late. There still is a chance for you to get 8th seed, but it is out of your hands. The Wolverines have to loose to Aalborg for you to get past the tie-breaker with them.

Possible but unlikely. I feel for you Sportsfrk51790. Like Crypt says, we were in the same position last season. It just means you'll be there next season.

I think we finished in 9th 2 season ago as well. It was 9th or 10th but stunk either way. I remember thinking that if we won our last 4 games we would make it but couldn't quite pull it off. Been a good run for 3 seasons in this league. Hopefully we can cap it off the right way before moving up.
