Sorry I am later with this guys, but, we just found out yesterday afternoon that one of the players on my daughters travel basketball and HS basketball team has Bone Marrow Cancer and it has spread at an alarming rate. Most of my afternoon and evening was spent talking with other parents and players. Makes you realize just how miniscule some things are compared to thinsg in real life.
Anyway, here we go:
1. The Danes- They hold that spot with an impressive win over Norfolk. No close game here as the Danes controlled this one from the get go, up 24-7 they never looked back. Up next a game with quickly improving Telstar.
2. PM- The Tigersharks got more than they bargained for from Telstar. In a game tied going into the 4th quarter, the depth of PM caught up. PM has Cobden up next and looks to keep the momentum going in their first ever meeting with Cobden.
3. Trilla holds on to Number 3 because they beat Taylor head to head. An easy game with Puerto Rico, Guam coming up, and then a date with the GCMM.
4. Taylor- Huge win over the GCMM. The Shrooms up next and then a game with Bendigo.
FWIW- The top 4 are vets of the AA league and are proving to be pretty tough to deal with for the up and coming teams. Have not seen one of the upstart A teams beat an AA vet just yet.
5. Bendigo- It has been an up and down season for Bendigo, but, they won a game they needed to.Only one game out from a home playoff game now. Possibly one of the strangest games I have ever seen sim in GLB. Now they get the Aussies before a shot at Taylor.
6. Cobden- Like Bendigo, Up and down, but more highs than lows. They get a shot at the top two teams in the next two games and it will take more than FGs to win. PM and the Danes waiting.
7. GCMM- That game hurt. No 3 ST adn defensive TDs. GC had offense but could not contain Taylors running game. Puerto Rico first, then a huge game with AA vet Trilla.
8. Siracusa- Still in play here and moving up the ladder. In the next two games they have an opportunity to get into the 8th spot for the playoffs by beating McNuggets and Norfolk. This team is already battle tested and wont back down from anyone.
9. Norfolk- After a fast start, Norfolk ran into the top two teams and AA vets PM and The Danes. They were not in either game for long and have to right the ship quickly. After Suva a HUGE game with Siracusa.
10.- McNuggets Trying to keep the head above water. 3 of the next 4 games will make or break their season with Siracusa, Norfolk, & Trilla.
11. Shrooms- hanging in there so far, but 6 of the next 7 against playoff teams, 4 against the top 4 teams and AA vets. Going to be difficult to hang on to playoff hopes without some major improvements.
12. Telstar- This team is proving to be solid aNd down the stretch may win some games to cost some people shots at the playoffs. 5 of the first 7 games were against definate playoff teams and they got better each week. The Danes up next and I am sure the Danes wont sleep on Telstar.
13.Puerto Rico- The Coquis enter an extremely difficult stretch facing 4 playoff teams in 5 games. Gonna be a rough go for the next few games.
Guam, Aussies, Suva- All are entering difficult runs and the only games they look to have a shot in is against one another.
