Quite a bit of action in this week's poll. We're down to two undefeateds, the Vipers and the Olympians.

Rammstein ZETA made the Iron Fists look more like Play-Doh Fingers in their 87-21 thumping of Leningrad, while Chernobil stalked their way to an upset over the Army. Ofdensen owner Mindfreak was quoted after the game: "Jesus, man, it was so creepy, they were following us around at practice, calling our phones at 2am and breathing heavy into them, leaving those weird magazine-cut-out-letter notes in peoples' lockers, our guys just couldn't get focused for the game!"

In other news, Rammstein ALPHA didn't fare nearly as well as ZETA today, as the Aftermath lit them up like Christmas trees, 26-14. Rammstein QB Willie Nelson in post-game: "WTF?! They're running around in rad suits throwing toxic waste at us! Man, they don't pay me enough to deal with radiation sickness!"

And a round of "Taps" for the latest casualty of the rating system, the Bisons Sentinals, who fall out of the ranks after being torched by the Kiev Flames. Sentinals owner Bruno189 stated "We'll be back, I promise you that - as soon as the Fire Department gets here, anyway...."

And, on to the rankings.

1) Olympians (257.22) --
2) Vipers (233.5) --
3) Stalkers (221.35) +1
4) Rampage ZETA (209.58) +1
5) Army (187.25) -2
6) Flames (187.25) --
7) Stars (177.56) --
8) Calvary (122.67) +1
9) Iron Fists (120.62) -1
10) Secret (119.36) --
11) Hammers (105.39) +1
12) Aftermath (101.63) +1
13) Teutonic (95.52) +1
14) Storm (90.64) +2
15) Rampage ALPHA (89.61) -4
16) Sabotage (88.32) +1
17) Raptors (70.89) -2
18) Minotaurs (54.46) --

Vipers have continually faced tougher opponents (overall ratings) then Athens, with Kiev being a notable victory, and yet we are #2...

Athens notable wins:

Stalkers (5-1) - 42 point win
Sabotage (4-2) - 108 point win

Vipers notable wins:

Aftermath (4-2) - 27 point win
Hammers (5-1) - 30 point win
Flames (5-1) - 13 point win
Storm (4-2) - 68 point win

Yes, you have more quality wins, but margin of victory has been less than impressive. Their two quality wins total a wider MoV than your four combined.

It's worth noting (although it has no bearing on this ranking system) that the Olympians destroyed the Aftermath by 62 in their scrimmage.

I guess what I'm saying here is that, based on what I can gather of the two teams, the Olympians actually are superior, so I can't say the system is flawed.

Barring a mid-season catastrophe like the owner dropping dead and the team going CPU, I expect the Olympians to win it all.

But hey, next week is a new week.

We play Kiev in a few days.

You'll get the comparison there.

As I said, I'm open to all scrimmage offers if you think you can take us.

We'll take our game vs you guys in the championship, thanks. It's also worth noting we beat the Aftermath in a regular season game where they actually gameplanned.

Again, we've played consistently better teams, overall rating and depth wise, so yeah, we're not blowing them out by 100+ pts. But that has more to do with the fact that they are in fact better teams then the ones the Olympians have played.

No biggie though, just causing contraversy! I actually enjoy the ratings and the work you put in to them. As long as we keep winning, I don't care where we land on the weekly ratings!

That's always been my perspective. The power ranking system is just a nice way to keep the controversy up. It's set about as close as I can get it to accuracy without actually adding a human component (which would be way more work than I want to put into it)

I have some ideas, and I'm going to test a few more things in the way of variables - right now a 3 point win, no matter who the victim is, isn't worth much. By week 16, that will have assuredly changed, as the wins pile up for good teams and the losses pile up for bad ones.

Conversely, I didn't gameplan for that game either so it's a wash.

It's also worth noting that our chemistry was like 20 and we had no defensive AI installed lol

Scrimmage vs regular season... Completely different world. Besides, like I said, just stirring things up, as long as we are winning that's all I care about. Wasn't trying to piss people off, just having some fun...

I love that one.
