Last week was a pretty good week for the predictions, as I posted a pretty fair record of 7-1(Wrong on the DECATUR vs. Komodo game)...By the way, I forgot the Rekohu game! That 7-1 puts me at 33-9 for the season (79%).

Last Weeks Best Selection:
Alderaan Explosion vs. Topeka Twisters
Prediction: 34-21 Alderaan
Actual: 32-20 Alderaan

Melbourne Marvels vs. Williamsburg Colonials: Sometimes I honestly ask myself "why do I waste my time?" In fact, the only reason I'm writing about this game is because I am a journalist and I LOVE writing. *sigh*
Melbourne, 10-0 (Points deducted for wasting my time)

Pittsburgh Steelerz vs. Tonga Little Engine That Could: ...That's not cool.
Pittsburgh, 2-0......dicks

Redcliff Razmanaz vs. Rekohu Raptors: Rekohu is definitely looking a lot better than they did a few weeks ago. This team is very fortunate to get the schedule they did. Rekohu will actually be fighting for a playoff spot this year now. Redcliff on the other hand, has been strong all season and looks to defend their perfect record, and doesn't have the chemistry problem that Rekohu does.
Redcliff, 37-17

Wellington Wizards vs. Soloman Islands Pack: This is definitely the toughest game to pick in Alpha this week; an easy pick for game of the week. Soloman Islands suffered a tough two point loss to what looks to be Alpha's strongest team, the Steelerz. (big) Wellington wants to prove that they really are a contender, and this is the game to do it. Can Wellington defend against the high flying Soloman offense?
Soloman Islands, 27-21

Alderaan Explosion vs. Phoenix Eagles: Both these teams are 3-1 and hoping to make the playoffs. This could be a vital game in determining some of the playoff seeding. Alderaan is hard to pick against, but Phoenix is even harder.
Phoenix, 38-17

Cardiac Kids MD vs. South Sydney Rabid Rabbitohs: Well, yeah. Cardiac Kids are strong...no pun intended.
Cardiac, 52-10

Kaka'ako Ka vs. Topeka Twisters: The Ka are probably going to be one of the last teams into the Alpha playoffs if they make it, but they can't afford to lose games they're supposed to win. Topeka on the other hand probably won't be a playoff team, but they might be able to burst some bubbles. Topeka does have some talent, but it doesn't seem to be mixing well with the game plans.
Kaka'ako, 42-16

Memphis Kings vs. Mighty KC Chiefs: This is going to be a good match-up between two of Alpha's win less teams. Memphis was hoping to be a much improved team from last season, but things haven't exactly gone their way. The Chiefs have had a very tough draw with their schedule, but this could be the game they finally turn it around.
Memphis, 34-24

Zeta's Voyeurism (A clever way of saying 'peeking on Zeta'.)
SOMEONE LAUGH AT MY DAMN TITLES FOR ONCE?
Anyways, the game of the week is probably Port Moresby vs. Fiji Rage, but I don't like to do my own games. This weeks game is...

Dunedin Drones vs. Devonport Devils:Dunedin is trying to fight back from two consecutive losses, while Devonport has quietly improved to 2-2. Devonport is much too strong to not make the playoffs, and Dunedin is trying to show AA4 that newcomers deserve some respect. Here's some news for you Dunedin..."WE DON'T PLAY DAT"
sorry...
Devonport, 34-20

Team Shout-Out
Redcliff Razmanaz, Komodo Dragons and the Fiji Rage. All three of these teams defeated 3-0 teams, and two of them still maintain a perfect record. Komodo's win was definitely most impressive though. Kudos to all.

Poll of the Week
Will the Rochester Iroquois bounce back and make the playoffs?

Stole This From Swifts (Power Rankings)
1. Pittsburgh Steelerz--No one stronger in Alpha, in my opinion.
2. Melbourne Marvels--Two quality wins thus far; Christmas and Cardiac Kids.
3. Redcliff Razmanaz--I've finally learned how to spell their name...probably should be the 1 seed, to be honest.
4. Wellington Wizards--Still undefeated!
5. Soloman Islands Pack--Yeah they lost, but they're still one of Alpha's best.
6. Phoenix Eagles--Only loss comes to a higher ranked Redcliff by 4.
7. Cardiac Kids MD--They're not 7th in rankings, but I definitely believe in this team.
8. Alderaan Explosion--Alderaan has potential, maybe one year removed from the playoffs.
9. Rekohu Raptors--Very rich and making moves!
10. Kaka'ako Ka--Probably one year removed from a playoff birth.

Thanks for another great write up. I can't disagree with Swifts (Power Rankings) but the Eagles may be a little low.

Hehe, I had just written about how wasting my time is bad because you're going to blowout a team, then that game pops up!

Good Luck, your opponent also is a good gameplanner. I don't think it will come down to gameplanning as much as it comes down to depth. Should be a great game no matter what! I look forward to it. You guys should feel good though, to have a .500 or better record is good in this league, shucks, we are considered a Top Half of the league team, and we have only 1 more win then you guys.......

Hopefully not, they are a very, very good team, so in that respect, yes they will make it, but I really hope that they don't, for they will be a very good foe vs. whomever they play. -Naka

Great write-up mgoblue. I love your creative titles!

Like Naka said, they have a good team. But there are lots of good teams in our conference. If they don't make a move soon, it will be really difficult for them to make the playoffs. My guess is that the staff doesn't have enough time to game plan right now. They have a few glaring holes at the moment that they have to close up to be competitive.

70-7 isnt bouncing back

I actually viewed this game as a trap game too.... would not have been shocked at a close L there if we made a mistake or 3. I guess some people just can't utilize talent properly

Crazy... The top 9 in Zeta could beat any team in the league, and Im not saying a cinderella upset "could", but a legit "could"

Yeah, and yet, the top 4 in Alpha look like they could beat any Zeta team at the moment. This is one competitive league this season.

It sucks they only give us the preseason and one regular season game to gauge ourselves against Alpha. So I guess I'll just have to use our preseason game against 5-0 Redcliff to size up Alpha! http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=443705
