Just curious (and wanting to get some conversation going)... How did you pick your city, and mascot?

I'll start...

I inherited the Davenport Tigers a couple seasons ago, and I only bothered to change last season. I still don't have the vaguest idea of where the hell Davenport may be.

Being from Belgium, I wanted to find something in the region. After throwing a few ideas in the team forum and PMs, from the Brussels Sprouts, to the Brewers, to the Bruges Holy Bloods (which came really close!), I decided to go with my native town of Verviers, which is well known for... well, nothing really. Wool, at some point in history. So I figured that if I wanted a name a bit less shameful than "Wool Peddlers", I might have to go back a little further in time. Hence Gauls. After a quick search, assuring me we'd be the only "Gauls" around (I know that there are two "Gaulois" teams, but no other "Gauls"), I settled for the name. Colors and logo came later (green and white are Verviers' official city colors).

I picked Malta because back in high school I had to do a project making a travel brochure for a European country, I picked Malta, found out it is a pretty cool place.

I had no idea what the team mascot should be, then I picked up an old Magic: The Gathering deck I had lying around for inspiration, found a phantom creature, sounded cool, it stuck.

Picked the Red Devils before i knew what region i would be placed just because i liked the logo. Then when placed in Western Europe, i decided on Ramstein, Germany since I have been there and its a city with a US Military presence! I am former US Army.

Some of you might be wondering why our team is called the Rome Ramblin' Thornites as opposed to the dinosaurs or what not. Here is the reasoning.

As you might of read, a Thornite is a follower of the Religion of Thorn, a religion based on our savior and trusty Admin/GM. That is why our team is named the Thornites. Out of respect and admiration of Thorn. That is also why our logo is the panel one qwantz dinosaur.

well, i dont think i need to explain much about my team name..

its been my favorite team since the sperm met the egg, my mothers side of the family namely my grandfather is originally from pittsburgh, he was a steelers fan as were his mom and dad and so forth, my mom was a steelers fan my uncles all were, and i was born into it, my wife is a converted steeler fan(was a raider fan) i told her i wont marry anything other than a steeler fan, our son is a steeler fan. we live in california but we root for pittsburgh all the way, so when i decided i wanted to buy a team i went ahead and named it after my favorite NFL team and the greatest NFL team of all time.
