Well, last week was just an average week going 7-2, with wrong predictions in the Cardiac Kids vs. Melbourne Marvels and the Dunedin Drones vs. Dayton Gunslingers game. With the 7-2 week, I've now moved to 26-8 on the season (76%).

Last weeks best selections:
Wellington Colonials vs. Rekohu Raptors
Prediction: 31-13 Rekohu
Actual: 35-13 Rekohu

Pittsburgh Steelerz vs. Soloman Islands Pack: A great game in the Alpha conference. Looks like we have the leagues second best offense (behind Fiji Rage :-)) against the leagues 4th ranked offense. Will we have a high scoring contest? Or will this be a defensive contest as each are ranked within the top 5 of defense? In the end, Pittsburgh's tough secondary will stop the high powered passing offense of the Pack.
Pittsburgh, 34-27

Phoenix Eagles vs. Redcliff Razamanaz:Geez! Looks like a really good week in Alpha's games, but that makes it that much tougher for me to decide! Both these teams
were decent last season going 7-9. Both teams have played in at least one tough game. On paper, they're pretty similar level wise, but one team holds the edge gameplanning. Redcliff can pass, Phoenix can run.
Redcliff, 38-31

Melbourne Marvels vs. Tonga Little Engine That Could: Well, I came so close to picking a big upset for Cardiac Kids over Melbourne, but Melbourne showed me up! This week Melbourne can relax a bit after their big win over Cardiac. Tonga is deep, but not quite ready to be up in the Oceania AA4 Alpha Conference, or AA4 in general.
Melbourne, 78-3

Wellington Wizards vs. Memphis Kings: Out of all the Alpha conference teams, Wellington has played one of the most consistent schedules; not many great teams, but no cupcakes either. Memphis on the other hand looks stronger this season than the last, but they still don't seem quite ready for Oceania AA levels, though Darrius Haywoord-Bey may be Oceania's best WR.
Wellington, 52-18

Alderaan Explosion vs. Topeka Twisters: I don't usually like picking favorites, but if I have a favorite team in the Zeta conference, it's Alderaan. They don't have the highest levels AA4 has ever seen, but this is a team that could EASILY be 3-0. They lost a one point game to a top team in the Alpha conference. Topeka, 1-2, has struggled a little bit early, but hopes to rebound against Alderaan.
Alderaan, 34-21

Cardiac Kids MD vs. Williamsburg Colonials: Cardiac Kids is one touchdown away from possibly being 3-0. They boast the leagues #1 defense, and hope to have a bit of a cakewalk against Williamsburg. Obviously, Williamsburg isn't the top team in Alpha, but they can probably win a few games this season. Williamsburg's goal should be to keep this game a bit closer than the rest.
Cardiac Kids, 58-3

Kaka'ako Ka vs. Mighty KC Chiefs: This is a pretty even match-up against two struggling teams. The Ka are 1-2 but their only win is against a not so good Lexington Armada team from Zeta. The Chiefs haven't exactly had a nice welcoming into Oceania AA4, allowing scores in the 30's each game they've played. Can the Ka move to 2-2?
Kaka'ako Ka, 31-24

Swimming to Zeta (A clever way of saying ''A Dip in to Zeta")
(the) DECATUR STALEYS vs. Komodo Dragons: DECATUR is definitely the best team in Zeta, and if they keep playing the way they are, they'll be promoted to the next level. Komodo is hoping to slip in as one of those teams to get promoted as well. A Komodo win against DECATUR certainly would help their cause. Will this Komodo team pull off the seasons biggest upset so far?
DECATUR, 38-16

Team Shout-Out!
Screw this, this shout-out is going to tttbrian. He's been having some ridiculous trash talk, and it's getting me to crack up when reading our forums:

Christmas or Pittsburgh would get my vote so far, still too early in the season to be accurate!

Depends on who has "a little something left in the tank" - Rocky

Nice writeup again.

I of course really hope we can do it again this season. But I know Phoenix Eagles have been quiet so they might have some tricks left yet.

I think I agree with Chief that it's a bit early to tell. I'm guessing the favorites at this point, solely on Matchup Ratings, at least, would probably be Pittsburgh, Solomon Islands and Wellington... though that might obviously narrow out a bit, the next two games, since the three of them will be beating eachother up. And let's just say I'm not particularly looking forward to the three game stretch from Game 11-13. heh.

Thanks and I am speaking from VERY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF ALPHA. Soloman Islands is the team that I root for, they are a class act, and have Decatur's respect, don't know too much about the league, so I am basing most to all of my knowledge from the games that get played. I will say though, I am very impressed with the level of talent in Alpha for the first time, it reaches past 8 teams, once again, for the first time. I look forward to the season unfolding, and seeing who takes this side of the League, should be a great season with a bunch of teams vying for the Top spot!
