Many of you are familiar with my recaps which I did in the first two seasons in BBB#1. Bringing them up to A#1, once again only Alpha because to be honest I could care less about most of the Zeta teams. For those of you that would like to see the old recaps they are archived on the Wiki site:

Torpedo Cowthorpe (2-0) at Portugal Bull Riders (0-2) 234-0

The season opener at Eight Second Arena was so one sided that nearly all of the 49,220 fans were long gone by halftime as the Torpedo Cowthorpe dismantle the Bull Riders in a blowout. The league leader in dropped passes Cowthorpe's HB Wilson W. Wilson Jr. was the workhorse for owner mattlee123, rushing 25 times for 197 yards and managed to pull in 7 of the ten passes that hit his hands for another 57.5 yards and 5 TDs (4 rush, 1 pass). Standout Torpedo SS Thomas Hero notched two tackles to go with his 8 PDs and an interception that he returned to the house for the first of three Cowthorpe defensive scores.

Parma Panthers (2-0) at Edinburgh Union Jacks (0-2) 42-3

Union Jack Field was the site of a lopsided victory for the visiting Panthers as the home team Edinburgh never got started on offense and failed to slow down the plucky Parma point machine. Parma pounded the rock 57 times in the game, wearing down the Union Jack's D as HBs The Mighty Thor and Kenny "The Pistol" Doughnuts combined for an impressive 208 rushing yards and 5 TDs. Edinburgh QB EL OCHO was on the run for his life all game, losing the battle 3 times for 17 sack yards and throwing one of the two Union Jack picks.

Stockholm Black Death (2-0) at Ruhr Stahl-Männer (0-2) 37-16

The red hot Stockholm Black Death continue to play in championship form winning their 10th straight game as they outpace the Ruhr Stahl-Männer at the Steel Yard. Stockholm's bruising HB Jeremy Blitz ran hard between the tackles picking up 150 yards on his 30 carries breaking 15 tackles and scoring a critical 3rd quarter TD to put the game permanently out of reach for the home team. Stockholm's big man in the middle DT Azathorn Roth came close to the QB with 4 hurries and made 2 clutch tackles.

Manchester Spartans (2-0) at Roman Legionnaires (1-1) 42-22

The home team continued to take it like a 2 dollar whore as Manchester easily rolled through The Colosseum with a 42-22 victory over the Legionnaires of Rome. The passing game was on fire as Manchester QB Jaws Jaworski completed 25 of 34 for 245 yards and 4 TDs and was slippery in the pocket sliding out of 7 sticky situations and not allowing a single sack on the day. Defensively Spartans SS Got U Covered was a busy beaver with 6 tackles and a huge 56 yard interception return.

Kaiserslautern Red Devils (2-0) at East Cairo Argonauts (1-1) 30-29

The game of the week was clearly this contest which saw the Red Devils best the home town East Cairo Argonauts at their eponymous stadium. Kaiserslautern QB D'Vontrey Richardson #10 made the most of his snaps behind center throwing 2 TDs in the first half to give the Red Devils a lead that allowed challenged they would never relinquish. Devil's LB Sammy McScootin was all over the field with 14 tackles and 4 PDs, he along with the rest of the front 7 stymied the ECA rushing attack holding them to just 3.2 yards a carry.

Atom Bombs (0-2) at København Hühnerfalken (2-0) 27-38

One of only two teams that managed to succesfully defend their home stadium, the Hühnerfalken thrilled the 41,170 fans at The Killing Field with a solid win over the Atom Bombs. Groovy København QB Jefferson Airplane dissected the Atom defense with 331.5 yards on 23 completions and 2 TDs including a beauty to seal the game up with just 4 minutes to play when he hit WR Aamir al-Sahhah perfectly in stride for a 46 yard score. Hühnerfalken CB Nothing Special defied his name pulling in a clutch 23 yard interception return along with his 4 tackles and 3 PDs.

Southampton Stags (0-2) at Ingolstadt Hat Tossers (1-1) 0-223

The Hat Tossers made the most of their first home game riding roughshod over the Stags as Ingolstadt demolishes Southampton in an ugly blowout at the Haberdashery at Klenze Park. Ingolstadt QB Luke Ricotta took advantage of the cheap robots that were forced into service on defense throwing 12 TDs and 462 yards on just 16 completions and KR Tenshi NoBaka nearly topped his yardage with 446 PR yards and 2 TDs to go along with his 11.5 yards on his lone kick return to start the second half. The Ingolstadt D put up a gaudy 20 sacks and scored 4 defensive TDs.

Passion Fruits (1-1) at Stalingrad Snipers (0-2) 34-6

Passion took down the Stalingrad with a very gutty defensive effort as the Fruit shoot down the Snipers at the aptly named BLOOD Bowl. Passion HB Jerome "Big Bus" McNasty hit the holes hard on his way to 4 TDs and 144 yards on the ground and an additional 30 yards on his 4 catches. The real stars of the game however were on the defense which as a unit notched 5 sacks, picked off the QB twice and held Stalingrad to only 52 yards on 25 rushes. Fruits K WuTang IsForTheKids is for the kids stated matter of a factly "Hey yo, the Wu is back." after finishing the day perfect on 6 kicks.

I'll make sure to tell our entire team to peep the weekly recaps!

Interesting how you skipped the week 1 recap after you guys lost...does that mean you'll only be doing these when the Tossers win??

Honestly skipped week 1 because I didn't feel like doing 16 of these. I have done these after losses, and with equal gusto with wins. In fact over the last two seasons I have only missed a total of 5 weeks, including the post season. Here is a snippet from one of my favorites from last season:

Ingolstadt Hat Tossers (12-2) at East Cairo Argonauts (13-1) 26-19

The Hat Tossers emerge victorious in the Battle of the Twinkletoes as East Cairo drops their first game of the season in front of 13,200 fans at Argonauts Stadium. The offensive coordinators of each team frustrated each other with long passes for TDs in the first quarter but the defensive coordinators quickly recovered and made this a defensive battle for the ages. The 4th quarter saw three lead changes and some bizarre timeouts but ECA was unable to capitalize and the game went into overtime tied. Each team got a chance to hold the ball in the final period but with just 2:00 minutes left in the game stud Ingolstadt HB Tiny Twinkletoes tore through a stacked defensive formation and burst down the field 53.5 yards for a winning touchdown. Twinkletoes ended the day with 175.5 yards on 41 carries and the aggressive Hat Tossers defense got to ECA QB Basil McRae 4 times.
