The water has gotten a little mucker this week as I now think 6 teams have a shot at winning it all with the Mutants sitting right on the outside waiting to jump in the mix if the can beat a quality team. Things will get a little clearer with some big games to be played this week.

Rk- Team----------record---------Last ranking------next game-----final games--write up

-----Conference title contenders-------

#1 Montreal Rulers------------------(2-0)-----(1)--------#2 Chilliwack Fighting Flapping Heads-----Rolled over the Eagles and will now face off with one of the best early season games in a 1 vs 2 match up against the Heads.
#2 Chilliwack Fighting Flapping Heads--(2-0)--------(3)-----#1 Montreal Rulers------They have yet to be tested rolling to easy wins in the first 2 games, but that is all about to change with this big game against the Rulers coming up next.
#3 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters---(2-0)-----(4)---#10 Saskatoon Fighting Gamecocks---------A huge win for this team over RCKY snapping their 21 game winning streak has them in the hunt. Now they just have to make sure they don't have a slip up against the Gamecocks.
#4 Hogwarts Wizards-----------(2-0)-----(5)-------#6 Port Royal Acadians-----The Wizards have played well so for, but a game that will be a big early season test with the Acadians is next. This will tell where each team stands in the early season.
#5 Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen----(1-1)--------(2)------#15 RC Gladiators---After their first loss since season 6, they drop from 2nd to 5th. Nothing like a game against the Gladiators to get the team back on track again.
#6 Port Royal Acadians------------(2-0)----(6)----#4 Hogwarts Wizards---After 2 pretty impressive wins, I am thinking I underestimated this team a little bit and I am ready to move them up the reankings some. All they have to do is beat the Wizards and that will happen.

-------Playoff bubble teams--------

#7 Montreal Mutants---------(2-0)------(8)---------------#12 USAORG Eagles------The Mutants move to 2-0 after taking care of business with teams they are supposed to. Should beat the Eagles here also, but it will be the game after that that will tell how good they are.
#8 New Colgne Bears--------(1-1)----(11)-----#16 Ottawa Jaguars------This team is overachieving once again. After having them as low as 13 in the preseason rankings and labeling them in the playoffs is out of reach group last rankings, now they are marked into the 8th spot. What a job this coaching staff is doing.
#9 Cardinal Redbirds--------(0-2)--(7)-------#11 Manitoba Direwolves-------0-2 is not what this team had in mind to start the season. Chemistry is a big issue for this team, but the bottom line is they can not lose to the Direwolves or their season is over with all the conferences big hitters still to play. Sure they might upset a couple of them at the end of the season but it will be the tie breakers against the Bears and others that will cost them.
#10 Saskatoon Fighting Gamecocks--(0-2)---(9)---#3 Yellowknife Eskimo Hunters----Port Royal just whipped up on these guys and they will come back with another tough game. Playoff hopes are slowly slipping away in the early season.
#11 Manitoba Direwolves------------(1-1)-----(10)---#9 Cardinal Redbirds-------------The team is feeling pretty good after picking up the first win on the season. They have a chance to catch the Redbirds at the right time and pull an upset.

----------The playoffs seem to be out of reach-------------

#12 USAORG Eagles--------------(1-1)------(13)------#7 Montreal Mutants-------------The Eagles are in an awkward spot of not being good enough to move into a playoff spot and not being bad enough to drop down to the BBB leagues.
#13 Vancouver Northern Lights----(0-2)-------(12)-------#14 Medicine Hat Mavericks---This is a chance to pick up their first win.
#14 Medicine Hat Mavericks------(0-2)-----(14)------#13 Vancouver Northern Lights------If a third team is taken down to the BBB leagues, this game could determine which team goes.

------Headed down to BBB-----

#15 RC Gladiators---------------(0-2)--------(15)------#5 Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen------I think the Gladiators are excited about the prospect of moving down as they should be.
#16 Ottawa Jaguars------------(0-2)--------(16)------#8 New Colgne Bears------------The Bears are the winners of this automatic win.

Games of the week:

#1 Montreal Rulers (2-0) vs #2 Chilliwack Fighting Flapping Heads (2-0) - A 1 vs 2 match up is easily the game of the week. The winner of this one willhave early season bragging rights and earn a tie breaker over the other in a battle of home field advantage.

#4 Hogwarts Wizards (2-0) vs #6 Port Royal Acadians (2-0) - Well we know we will be down to at most 4 undefeated teams left as this will be our second battle of the unbeatens. This will be a good test for both to see where each stands.

Crowbar... keep up the good work... We like the power rankings and color even if it's not so complimentary to the Mavs right now

So far we haven't given you a reason to say anything different. Ultimately we want to be up here in A (and beyond), but it might have been a season too early. Time will tell.

I like your rankings, I don't think the Northern lights are better than the mavs, but I guess we'll find out today.

If this is your first game against the Lights don't underestimate them. I have been around them since season 5 and both of us have made the playoffs every season of our existence and they own a 3-2 edge over us in the series. Max owns the team and basically all the players. He is a master game planner, one of the best I have seen in GLB. The problem is he doesn't boost all of his players (if any) and it looks like that is finally starting to catch up to him, but if you underestimate him, he will beat you.

I was getting nervous watching (even though I knew the score)... Max had a very good game plan for us. It was a VERY good game that was much closer than the score shows. Basically a Big hit fumble returned for a TD and our WR got loose for a couple of back breaking TD's (and some early missed FG's by them).

GG Northern Lights!

I didn't want to post it until after the game, but I wouldn't underestimate the Mavericks. They're outclassed by most in this league level-wise, but they can put up more of a fight than you would at first think.

Thanks Nola, we do have two excellent coordinators, hopefully we upset a couple of teams this season.

At this point I'm really hoping the Eskimo hunters are one of them. (-;
