1) Hawaii Phoenixes – Another win for the front runner, but Hawaii might possibly have the softest schedule in the league for the first half of the season, so don’t expect Hawaii to be challenged for quite awhile.
2) Orlando Lightning Bolts – I guess my thoughts on Orlando being tougher than people expected might have just taken a giant leap towards validity. A very close win over Texas that pretty much surprised most of the league, Geelong is up this week for Orlando, better hope they aren’t jet lagged.
3) Texas Drillers – You can’t punish a team to bad when they lose to someone ranked 1 spot below them. I still think TEXAS DRILLERS are a solid team that should end up with a home playoff game in the end. Drillers have a BRUTAL first half of the season schedule
4) Gold Coast Vipers – Impressive win over a higher tanked opponent from this season and last season. Gold coast is starting to make a believer out of me. The next 3 games are easy wins for Gold Coast, and even a CPU team in the mix. 5-0 will be a tough start to catch, only Hawaii and Gold Coast will end 5-0. Because of this 5-0 start I had to bump them into the top 4.
5) Auckland Titans – Guam went down this week as Auckland had little trouble dispatching them. As expected Auckland walks into a battle with Texas this week to really put into perspective where each team stands. The winner will rise and the loser shall drop out of the home playoff spots.
6) Sack Sabbath- Sack wins again and is obviously primed to win again this week with Guam as their match up. Sack’s true test will come the following week with the Drillers.
7) Geelong – Geelong gets past Melbourne who was a playoff team from last season (8 Seed) and look to be in form to make a run, although with Orlando coming up we should know a lot more about Geelong after.
8) Hamilton Hellcats – Not a good start. 0-2 and Hawaii next week most likely means this team starts 0-3, on the bright side easier teams should follow.
9) Death Riders – A win for the Riders over a CPU team, so yeah I can’t really comment on that. They have a very winnable next couple games and I expect them to be 3-1 leading into the game against the Drillers.
10) Melbourne Pred’s – Close loss again to Geelong, they need some kind of spark to push them into a tough top 8 in this league.
11) Sydney Sharks – A much needed win over the Crotch Crickets, they are still in the mix for now, lets see how things work out over the next couple of weeks.
12) Guam Circus – Another loss for Guam, I doubt they have a chance to make the playoffs this season but I wouldn’t rule them out just yet, I’ll give it a couple weeks.
