Holy ****, you know I am bored when I start to do these:
.) Naples Purple Nurples: After a very active offseason the Nurples are putting their newly acquired talent to work. After two games, they are 2-0 and seem to have an upper hand on the competition. They have LOADS of talent at the skills positions giving teams a handful to game plan for. The Nurples should be able to pinch out 13+ wins this season and may solidify themselves as a #1 seed for the playoffs.
.) Swedish Fish: The Fish had an active offseason as well, bolstering both sides of the ball with talent. The defense is off to a fast start giving up 5.0 PPG with one shutout. With a balanced offense and a stingy defense they should be alright throughout the course of the season. Look for the Fish to sink their competition and compete for Alpha's #1 seed.
.) Endzone Gorillas: The Gorillas are off to a fast start after folding the Aces by 21 and pulling off a Scabs victory by 4. A tough road lies ahead as their next 5 opponents all look like playoff contenders. Expect the Gorillas to beat their chests and ride their veteran players to a playoff appearance.
.) Iceland Ice Ants: The former WEBBB #4 champs have started WEA #2 with a bang. Knocking off two worthy opponents in the first two weeks should give this squad a solid bit of confidence for the next few weeks. The Ants also have a tough schedule upon them playing four top teams in Alpha. If the Ants can avoid freezing up in the next few weeks, they will for certainly be a team to look out for.
.) Windsor Nobles:This newly promoted WEBBB #3 finally joins back up with the expansion teams of Season 6. A great run in Season 7 included a 14-2 record and a Conference title. Then they laid an egg in the Championship game against Sicily. The Nobles have already knocked off the 'overrated' Stallyns and look to start 5-0 with a semi easy schedule ahead. If Windsor can honor their coaching staff, RR, they should be in good shape this season.
.) Belfast Shamrocks:: The Shamrocks have escaped the madness of WEAA #1 and drop into WEA #2 ready to compete. Riding the arm of their Super Bowl winning QB to back to back wins, the Shamrocks are going to be a tough team to stop through the air. If Belfast can get some Luck of the Irish going they may bust into the Top 4 by seasons end.
.) Mississippi Delta Delta Force: MDDF another Season 6 expansion team is off to a blistering start. Delta Force is close to averaging 100 PPG, but they are playing against competition Rygar's mother could beat. The next two games will show how good MDDF really is playing the Nurples and Fish in consecutive weeks. If they can pull off a few upsets, they could challenge for a Top 4 seed, but look for them to finish somewhere between 5-8.
.) Folsom County Blues: FCB pulls off a Top 8 spot by the hair on their chinny chin, chin. Somewhat of an impressive effort against Sicily and a victory over the Rhinos have the Blues sitting at 1-1. They should be able to pull of two wins in a row before hosting the Fish in Week 5. Should they send the Fish home with the Blues, they may be a concrete team for a playoff spot, but realistically it may be a dog fight all season.
.) Bubonic Plague: The Plague were 'plagued' with a terrible conference opener. Facing the Nurples in Week 2 is a tough spot to be in. But nonetheless they fought hard for a 20 point loss. If they can figure out the Wildcat or something new for their offense to score, they might challenge for a playoff spot. If not it may be a long season for the Plagued offense.
.) TILBURG CHEESEHEADS: The CHEESEHEADS looked like a set of cheesy nerds playing the Fish. The offense could not get anything going and the defense couldn't stop the Fish from scoring. If they had not drawn a lucky opening game in the Zeta game they may be sitting at 0-2. But they are 1-1 thanks to their schedule and are going to some major breakthroughs to compete this season.
.) West Seattle Wyld Stallyns: WSWS are not short on posting awesomeness. What they lack is a sense of leadership in their coaching staff. Should they find some kind of real coaching I think they have the talent to attempt a run at a playoff spot. But if not, I think we could be looking at a team that will only make a presence on the boards, not on the field. But Gawd forbid if somehow I awake the sleeping giant and they string off 14 wins in a row.
.) D'Haran Legion: The Legion are coming off two Tough losses and the schedule does not get easier anytime soon. A team full of potential is currently lying at the bottom of the standings. Honestly it would not surprise me if someway this team wins their next two and goes into a stretch of their schedule which they should handle with ease. The season is not even close to over for this team, they are contenders and should start to play like contenders soon. If not this season could be a major letdown for the Legion team who made the playoffs last season.
.) Ljublana Chamois Scabs: The Scabs were only 4 points away from pulling off an 'upset' against the Gorillas. Chemistry and schedule are not in their favor and they are not going to be a threat until late this season. Assuming they don't scrape out some wins against the latter of the conference they will miss out on the playoffs for yet another season.
.) Rhine River Rhinos: The Rhinos get the nod here only because of how they lost. A total of 26 points separates them from being 2-0. But nonetheless they are 0-2 and quite possibly could start off 0-3 with a game against the Nobles coming. The Rhinos should be coming up with ways to get a few wins so when they recruit for next season they won't be left in the dust.
.) Tesriver Flood: The Flood are in no better situation than any other 0-2 team. Pretty soon it will become a must win situation and if they can't pull off any wins they will be sitting at home watching the playoffs with seven other teams. They have some talent to make a riffle but not enough to fight with any of the Top 8. If they plan on staying in A ball they better pull off a few surprise victories.
.) Cherry Valley Wizards: Good luck losing to this team. Seriously they are so bad, it would take a game plan to lose, to fall to these against these guys. 0-16 is in their sites and they are looking like favorites to meet this goal. They should get an early start on recruiting for next season, if the team even sticks together after this season. BBB doesn't get much easier though.
Enjoy. Flame. Do as you wish.
