1 Krakow Mountain Lions 8-0-1 W8 [SOS 39-33] [REMAINING SOS 30-33]
05/14/2008 at Istanbul Hippos
05/16/2008 Renosa El Chupacabra
05/18/2008 at Gdansk Solidarity
05/20/2008 Planet of the Apes Damn Dirty Apes
05/22/2008 at Buda Pests
05/24/2008 Pflugerville Panthers
05/26/2008 Belgrade Falcons
IMO, Krakow has the toughest remaining games. 4 of the remaining 7 are play off bound teams. With two of those teams in the top three of the conference. Right now they have proved to be a top 3 seed team in the playoffs, and in the coming weeks they have a chance to show they are the 1 seed.

2 Istanbul Hippos 8-1-0 W3 [SOS 31-40-1][REMAINING SOS 40-22-1]
05/14/2008 Krakow Mountain Lions
05/16/2008 at Huevos Rancheros
05/18/2008 Bucharest Legion
05/20/2008 at St. Petersburg Crusaders
05/22/2008 Riga Tigers
05/24/2008 at Warsaw Warriors
05/26/2008 Jersey Wildcats
Istanbul has stayed at the top all year. Only loss was to a playoff team by 13. Their defense is probably one of the best in the league. Only two teams have figured out how to get a touchdown on them. 3 of the remaining 7 teams that they face are playoff teams. I see no reason for them to fall very far in the coming weeks. Say hello to one of the top 3 seeds. And they have a good chance to claim that top spot.

3 Renosa El Chupacabra 7-2-0 W2 [SOS 28-43-1][REMAINING SOS 34-28-1]
05/14/2008 Barcelona Spanish Matadors
05/16/2008 at Krakow Mountain Lions
05/18/2008 Huevos Rancheros
05/20/2008 at Bucharest Legion
05/22/2008 St. Petersburg Crusaders
05/24/2008 at Riga Tigers
05/26/2008 at Rio de Janeiro Bat Crazy Winos
Another team that is led by it's defense. With two very close loses, Renosa probably feels that they should be higher then third right now. The two loses have been by a combined score of 5 points. However, they face 3 playoff bound teams in the coming weeks, and have a chance to move up with some key wins.

4 Bucharest Legion 7-2-0 W2 [SOS 31-39-2][REMAINING SOS 32-31]
05/14/2008 at St. Petersburg Crusaders
05/16/2008 Riga Tigers
05/18/2008 at Istanbul Hippos
05/20/2008 Renosa El Chupacabra
05/22/2008 at Gdansk Solidarity
05/24/2008 Planet of the Apes Damn Dirty Apes
05/26/2008 Morgantown Mountaineers
Legion was one of the favorites to start the season. They have stumbled just twice this year and are looking to show they deserve one of the top 3 spots in the playoffs. They will get there chance to prove it on the Road against the Hippos and Solidarity. They also need to defend their house against Renosa. Legion has a chance to scramble the top 3 seeds down the stretch.

5 Moscow Mixed Martial Artist 6-2-1 W1 [SOS 49-23][REMAINING SOS 21-42]
05/14/2008 at Buda Pests
05/16/2008 Pflugerville Panthers
05/18/2008 Warsaw Warriors
05/20/2008 at Ljubljana Pregls
05/22/2008 Metro City Phenomenals
05/24/2008 at Barcelona Spanish Matadors
05/26/2008 at stewart ballers
Their remaining schedule has all of two playoff teams on it. They should move up if any of the top teams stumble down the stretch. With the top 4 teams playing each other in the coming weeks, Moscow just needs to finish off it's schedule and they could find themselves with a home game or two come play off time. Moscow has already proven that they can compete with the top teams, with a win against Renosa and a tie with Krakow.

I will do another post with the teams that are in the middle of the conference. Or I might just add to this one. Freakin work is interfering with the important stuff.

Haha, I hear that. I can't wait to see if the current top 5 are going to be the same top 5 we have at the end of the season. A couple of teams in the middle could make a run with some key wins.

SOS = STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE

Which is the wins and loses of your opponents. I subtacted the win/loss of the team from that. For example,

Moscow played the following teams with the following records
Krak 8-0-1
Huevos 5-4
Buch 7-2
St. Pet 4-5
Riga 4-5
istan 8-1
ren 7-2
gdan 6-3
Planet 2-7

total wins 51
total loses 29
one tie
51-29-1
I subtracted moscow's record 6-2-1 That should take out the moscow's wins and loses against the current teams.

49-23

I thought Krakow would be the one with the weakest, but it's my Renosa team that
hasn't played very many winning ball clubs.

Metro is the only 'bad' team that you guys have played so far, and you have played three 'good' teams(moscow, barcelona, Legion). The differnce between 'sos' are the teams that played the middle of the league and the teams that played the bottom of the league. You guys have had the middle of the league. Renosa has played a couple of 'good' teams(Instanbul,Moscow, Gdansk) and then abunch of bottom teams.(Planet, Buda, Pflugervile,Metro)

I did a SOS for what is remaining for each team.

Up to now, we (Moscow) have had the hardest SOS and easiest remaining SOS.
Easy ticket in the playoffs.

ok so the Hippo's have the hardest strength of schedule remaining?
but looking at the teams that we play doing the comparison i dont see us losing,... maybe one game.

Our schedule gets alot easier after we play hippos tomorrow and Renosa in the next game. It has to!

You guys are looking at SOS as if the teams have not changed since the beginning of the season. That is not true for teams such as ours that are completely rebuilt since day #1. While I don't think we can stick with Warsaw tomorrow unless we find a glaring weakness somewhere, there are some teams in the middle that may give teh top teams a run for their money. I would not be surprised to see a top ranked team upset in the next few weeks.

Alot of it depends on your last game. Renosa gets a team from zeta that hasn't won very much, while the hippos get a 9-0 jersey team. Krakow has a tough 3 games stretch and then it lightens up for the next 3 and then finishes off with a play off team from zeta.

I also agree that playing the middle teams early is alot better then playing them late. Playoffs will become a real possibility for teams that can get an upset here and there. Teams will make adjustments, and the middle teams are more likely to make those down the stretch, imo. The first half of the season is over, and the second half will have some surprises. I hope my team moves up because of those surpises.... HOme field advantage is huge in the playoffs because of money.
I don't think anything is set for the top teams. And any of those top 5 teams can end up as the top 3 seeds in Alpha.

Good luck
