Take a look at these plays where my guard is "run over" and basically a non factor.

Now looking at the replay's what would you assume I need to work on? More str? more vision? more agl?

Here is my guard.

My tactics were set to run block. I thought I had a pretty good build, but now have no idea whats going on. Any advice?

Move to RG IMO let the other G figure it out.

Just kidding. It looks to me like your G owned the DT most the game. He beat you twice out of 63 plays. That aint bad to me. Thats better than real life. Unless this happens all the time I would suggest stick to your current build plan. Thats just my 2 cents.

That guy does outlevel you a bit. It's not much, but it is a small difference. It looks like he's a good DT too.

But if I were giving advice, I'd say you should take agility to 68 and then maybe work on some SAs or vision/confidence.

it's funny to actually say this, but you have cheap points sitting in the SAs, go get them! You can put 2 points into each one for only 20 points, I believe that most of them are multipliers, so your return would be much greater there, based on your awesome base atts, then anywhere else.

Please don't do this.

Rio, what's your argument against? His man is lvl 39 so there isn't much to speak of in lvl bonuses, anything worth training is getting under %10 in return. SA's really do seem the most effective way to spend SPs, if your arguement is against spreading them out across the board I can understand, but if you're just against SAs it doesn't make a bunch of sense.

I am not a fan of SA's beyond get low, and I am working on a AE piece.

If a cretin SA fixes this, then I am all for it, but for now I will probably cap agl, then either cap confidence or vis. Leaning towards confidence because it is a major.

You are correct that I have pretty much run out of things to train other then speed/sta.

I do not like any of the pass blocking SA's for guards. I really do not like pancake. The other 3 run SA's I do like. (Hands excluded)

I agree that the last two on almost every players SA trees are glamoure based, not production based. But SAs multiply base attributes, almost by defintion they are the quickest way to improve your player. Pick what you think is most valuable in the SA tree and pump it.

They way your G stops indicates to me the DT has 15 in the veterans' ability that gives a boost to reverse pancaking when breaking a block (heavyweight?).

So, if the block gets broken, you have a chance of stopping.

Your strength of 95 ish should be fine. I worry about the blocking at 80 being too low. Try to put your lvl 40 equipment in this and also put some VAs into great blocker. (I assume it's already over 68 raw).

When you're ready to start with some SAs I'd take Pass and Run Block to 4 to start. It is likely they are % multipliers for every play (read the description) so should not be ignored.

Agility to 68 would be nice before that though.

One final thing - you seem to be more of a run blocking RG based on your build - high strength, good vision and mobility. I'd play someone at LG who has more blocking, and the blocking VA.

Yeah I thought of Heavyweight when I first saw the play. I have always been a fan of Higher str for the guards but I could always experiment with block gear for the LG. My RG and LG are almost identical. Power running team.

I wouldn't worry too much about it then. The DT looks like he does it to everyone and if you are trying to run it past the LG also then it is worth having the strength there.

This is a pretty good idea. I wouldn't go 2 in all of them But it "looks like" you got strong based on the first play. Foundation would help you.
and get low is pretty good for the run block tree.

I do think it's time for s.a.'s for you. Get foundation up and get low up at least to 4 each if you can.

Foundation and blocking would be my choice as well.

Sometimes you just lose the battle, especially against tough opponents. Against those guys you have to have great agility... probably 70+. That DT is a great candidate for the cut block SA.
