Here's a little something for the league as we inch 1 game away from the playoffs.

Zeta

Championship Material

1. Denmark Destruction Denmark's season can be divided into two halves. One half is wholly consisted of a miserable 40 point loss to the Men of War the second game of the season. The other half is everything else- a truly impressive body of work. They crushed MMD by 31 and Siena by 39 in the home stretch. They've clearly improved as the season has gone on- with their high powered defense and the league leading HB Stokes at the helm. If they meet the Men of War now or in the playoffs, expect a far different result.

2. Portuguese Men-Of-War They've had a very impressive undefeated season, and may be the league's most solid team. Still, close games against Siena and MMD versus Denmark's routs leave a few question marks in the latter half of the season. Or the MOW could be holding back some of their tactical prowess and looking to cruise to a perfect record in the home stretch- then reignite the engines come playoff time.

Looking Dangerous

3. Siena IL PALIO They were on top of the league ranking sheets for quite a while- until they got a brutal awakening from Denmark followed by another close loss to the MOW. Still, they've taken care of the rest of the schedule with ease, but can they compete with the elite?

4. Middelburg Mighty Dutchmen These guys are the new kids on the block after a promotion from BBB, and after a blowout loss to Siena, they quickly have tried to establish themselves as the most explosive. Midseason additions have contributed to some heady scores, like a 90-7 triumph over Chernobyl, but will chemistry problems ease up enough for them to reverse scores like a losses to Denmark and the MOW come playoff time?

First Round Fodder

5. London Pounds Lead by their softspoken star HB Civic Jones, the London Pounds have put together a respectable season. A win over the Men-Of-War the last game of the season could help London make some noise going into the playoffs, but don't count on it.

6. EASTWICK SAVAGES This is a talented team, but they just can't seem to muster enough to be truly amongst the elite. Shootout losses including 42-49 to London and 52-54 to MMD reveal their defensive weaknesses. Still, they too could make a lot of noise with a win over Denmark going into the playoffs, but don't count on that either.

7. Bjelasnica Red Star They get the nod for lucky number 7 over Chernobyl because of their head to head game, but that may not be a good thing in the playoff seedings. They have a must win game coming up against Edinburgh, and their skill position players at QB and HB are going to be outleveled. Still, we expect the Red Star to carry through.

8. Chernobyl Neutrons Chernobyl is one of those teams that's not quite there yet but generally takes care of business- they win against teams like Edinburgh and lose to teams like EASTWICK. Right now, they just barely qualify for the playoffs, but they could make some noise next season.

9. Edinburgh Knights The Knights have a last do or die shot for the playoffs against the Red Star and could prove this prognosticator wrong by pulling the upset, but with a 30 point loss to Chernobyl just two weeks ago, this prognosticator likes his chances.

Who really cares, they'll be routed by the Zeta champion and you can take that to the ATM.

Nice write up. No disrespect to the other teams, but I agree that PMOW and Denmark are the teams to beat

Nice write up!

Let's go Denmark.

My defensive coordinator was slacking for most of the first half of the season. I took over the defensive AI at the Middleburg game, and our defense has been playing lights out since then...I'm excited about these playoffs

Good luck to all that are in the playoffs/fighting for position in the playoffs

Nothing but respect for how Denmark turned this season around...

but I don't believe they can beat us if we meet again, let's go and find out ;p

Play-offs might not be the best measuring of skill as a lot of things are messed up then, but nonetheless it will be fun to play you again.

Woah there Silencie...pump the brakes my friend....

I absolutely believe Denmark can beat us, as well as three or four other teams in Zeta. We've shown we're good enough to beat them as well, so it should make for an interesting playoff.

Zeta Playoffs are a mine field!

The playoffs are going to be very fun, I like to think. There are a nice group of teams that will be dangerous, and we respect the MoW, and look forward to game planning for a rematch if we do get to that point, which we really hope to get deep in to the playoffs.

Good luck MoW, and good luck everyone else in the playoffs, unless you play Denmark, and in that case...we can't wish you good luck too much!!
