These next 3 games are going to be crazy for almost every team in this conference. The Fire have to run the gauntlet of Freemont, SOUTH GEORGIA and then the Toro's. I feel really bad for the guys who have to gameplan for them the next 5 days, then worry about a playoff game. Appalachian, Nawlins, Death Valley and Lacrosse all will be battling each other for the final 2 playoff spots and will probably result in a team being left out due to a tie breaker. It should be a lot of fun to watch all this pans out. I would like to put a playoff prediction up and I am sure some will be offended but this is just my opinion of how I think it will all pan out.
1. Houston Toros ........This team is untouchable right now. Both the GROWL and the Warriors resorted to trick game planning in back to back weeks and that obviously is not the way to beat Houston as we both got completely embarrassed but also both bounced back with big wins against Philly II. The rest of their season is no cake walk with Philly II and the Fire on the schedule but should go into the playoffs with only 1 loss.
2. Freemont Warriors ........2 big 4 point wins against the GROWL and Philly II is what pushed Freemont over the top and if they can get by the Fire tomorrow then they dance into the 2 seed. They will be watching the Houston games very closely hoping for some upsets but probably are not going to see them but home field is home field and I imagine the Freemont crew will be very happy with the 2 seed.
3. San Francisco Webzoners .......3-6 is very hard to forecast but with San Francisco's remaining schedule they would have to really screw something up to not be 13-3 which will leave them in a tie with the 4 seed but beat them out in the tie-breaker. Losing last week drops them in my power rankings big time but logistically they have a free pass to the 3 seed.
4. SOUTH GEORGIA GROWL .......My team and I know people are going to think this is a biased pick but I am being very realistic. The GROWL have a war against the Fire the game after next and I think they will win that game in a shootout leaving them also at 13-3.
5. Philadelphia Marauders II .......This was simple for me as I mentioned on another thread, I think SGG and Philly II will be meeting in the first round of the playoffs. A loss to the Toro's tomorrow and then winning out leaves you 12-4 and earns you a plane trip down to Georgia.
6. Milwaukee Fire ......I apologize fellas but I don't think you are going to survive this gauntlet. Right now you are 11-2 but with 3 losses to finish the season 11-5 is where you will finish. A win over SGG will launch you all the way up to the 4 seed which will make for a very entertaining game. (Maybe I should be game planning instead of writing playoff predictions)
7. Nawlins Voodoo .....Another team that has a very intimidating final stretch of games but after seeing them beat the Webzoners I have to believe they are getting hot at the right time. 10-6 is where I feel they will finish with 5 of the 6 losses coming to 5 of the 6 teams ranked ahead of them. Having to play the Batallion with your inter league game was a shitty break but a win there would not change your playoff seed anyway.
8. Death Valley Devils .....30-27 over Lacrosse earns you this spot. Both the Devils and the Rats will be 8-8 when the season ends but tie goes to the Devils because of that huge win. I am very sad to see the Rats not make the playoffs as they were one hell of a team last season. The one thing about the Devils is that they can really gameplan for big games.
