Eastern Conference Top 5

1.) Kingston Dark Knights

Previous Ranking: 1st

Record: 13-0

Key Wins: Sackville Blitz (52-32), Lethbridge Fighters (29-24), Lincoln Lucky (37-17), New Brunswick Bombers (82-51)

Key Loses: None

Last 4 Games:
Sackville Blitz (12-0) - Win.....52-32
Toronto Storm (10-3) - Win - I got a strange feeling that this one might be closer than The Blitz game
KK (8-5) - Win - KK is known for some big upsets....but not here. The win streaks continues....35 and counting!
Northern Lights (3-10) - Win - I see a 255-0 win here...Knudlen gets the day off as the off is in cruise control

My Thoughts:
Well the big game came out much like I thought. I don't see a Gaffney like upset for KDK. The Storm and KK are good teams but not on the same level as Kingston. These guys will continue to roll through the season and playoffs. They will put their then 38-game win streak on the line vs (IMO) Sackville in the Eastern Conference Championship. At this moment I see them winning it but by a closer margin the 2nd time around.

As a side not, most people may not agree with Kingston throwing a playoff game 2 seasons ago (i don't) in order to get one more year of experience to be competitive. They didn't go out and try and buy a championship with high level FA (not knocking anyone), they saw an unpopular strategy and choose to follow it. They have lined up and beat the last 33 opponents they have faced. In the end they have earned their spot here and proven they are the best of the best here.
I guess my point is what happen, happen 2 seasons ago and has no effect on the games we play now. We all have had the same amount of time to level up our guys, to recruit new agents, to build our stadiums. It is your choice to pass judgment on them as you see fit. But at the end of the day when they beat you, it isn't cause they throw a game 2 seasons ago, its because they are that damn good!........Flame on.

2.) Sackville Blitz

Previous Ranking: 2nd

Record: 12-1

Key Wins: Lincoln Lucky (45-27), New Brunswick Bombers (83-10)

Key Loses: Kingston Dark Knights (32-52)

Last 4 Games:
Kingston Dark Knights (12-0) - Loss.....32-52
British Columbia Fighting Bettas (0-13) - Win - Blitz rebound with a stat padding game
Kitchener Krushers (1-12) - Win - Back-2-Back stat padding games....hope their ready a Storm is coming next game!
Toronto Storm (10-3) - Win - The Storm proved they are a top 4 team by taking care of Kapone, but the Blitz are a totally different animal.

My Thoughts:
IMO The Blitz are still the clear #2 team in the East. They have shown great humility on the forums after the much inticapated match up with KDK went the other way. Despite moving the ball fairly easy the KDK's defense bent, but didn't break. Sackville has two easy games before an interesting matchup with The Storm. If there is another team that could trip up The Blitz it is The Storm. I don't see that happening, but I do see The Blitz rolling through until the conference championship game rematch with Kingston. I think the outcome will be the same, but much closer.

3.) Westlake Rams

Previous Ranking: None

Record: 9-4

Key Wins: Toronto Storm (34-17), Lincoln Lucky (27-20), KK (70-13)

Key Loses: Kingston Dark Knights (6-69), Sackville Blitz (27-33), New Brunswick Bombers (20-30)

Last 4 Games:
Lincoln Lucky (7-5) - Win.....27-20
WMD Ballers (8-5) - Win - last ranking I had WMD winning this one, but now I am on the Rams bandwagon
Sackville Waterfowl (1-12) - Win - Stat padder...going for a Trophy?
Kitchener Krushers (1-12) - Win - Back-2-back stat padders heading into the playoffs.

My Thoughts:
Well after a big win vs Lincoln Lucky the Rams have me believing. I see The Storm losing 2 more to finish 11-5, I see Kapone's Bombers losing at least 1 more (chemistry!) to finish 11-5 so if they can win out and finish 12-4 they will claim the #3 seed in the playoffs! Even if they tie with The Storm they hold the head-2-head tie breaker. After not making an appearance at all on my ranking these guys are now #3. I tell you what that #3 vs #6 game is going to be fun! Once you get past Kingston and Sackville the whole east is up for grabs.

4.) Toronto Storm

Previous Ranking: 3rd

Record: 10-3

Key Wins: New Brunswick Bombers (62-34), WMD Ballers (33-20), Lincoln Lucky (30-27), KK (40-37)

Key Loses: S.W.O. Swamp Donkeys (27-30), Westlake Rams (17-34)

Last 4 Games:
Sacramento Terror (3-9) - Win.....67-7
Kingston Dark Knights (13-0) - Loss - Good Luck!
British Columbia Fighting Bettas (0-13) - Win - Stat padder
Sackville Blitz (12-1) - Loss - I can see this one being an upset. This will be a fun one to watch!

My Thoughts:
The Strom get the advantage of playing Kingston after The Blitz. I say advantage cause maybe Knudlen left nothing on the table and finally someone can get a good scouting report on them. The problem isn't getting yards vs KDK its getting TDs! Ignite has his team 10-3, but still has to play the two teams ahead of him in the standings. Now is the time to make a statement! Are The Storm in the same class with The Blitz and Kingston? We will find out very soon.
If The Storm lose to the Blitz and KDK and finish 11-5 they will lose the #3 seed in the playoffs to Westlake who could finish 11-5 (or even 12-4) and holds the head-2-head tie breaker.

5.) WMD Ballers

Previous Ranking: 4th

Record: 8-5

Key Wins: Lincoln Lucky (26-19), KK (31-24)

Key Loses: Kingston Dark Knights (7-73), Sackville Blitz (10-58), New Brunswick Bombers (24-27), Toronto Storm (20-33)

Last 4 Games:
Sackville Waterfowl (1-11) - Win.....73-6
Westlake Rams (9-4) - Loss - I am flip floping from last week, I'm think Westlake will win this one!
Grand Banks Bluenoses (6-7) - Win - Should be a win vs a solid team that just hasn't played well this year
St. John's Pistons (5-8) - Win - Another easy win heading into the playoffs.

My Thoughts:
At first glance these guys don't look that impressive. They only have 2 key wins and have 4 losses vs better teams. I see these guys clicking right now and winning out. IMO they have the easiest remaining schedule. The only team I see tripping them up is Westlake. I think WMD wins that one and finishes the year 11-5. I would hate to play them if I am a higher seed (except KDK). I thought the same about Lincoln last rankings so I could be wrong again, the East is crazy right now!

That is what I said last week and I still believe all that except them beating Westlake. I am not totally jumping off this bandwagon, but just shuffling it around. I have added a 5th spot to my ranking due to the competition tightening. Westlake has more impressive wins then then these guys and I think their game will be very close. With KDK and Sackville locking up the #1-2 playoff seeds the race to finish not 7th and 8th is on in the East.

Notes:
- With Kingston and Sackville locking up the top 2 seeds the race is on for the 3rd-6th spots to avoid a 1st Rd matchup
- the 3-8 seeds are all very close. It is going to be some great playoff matches that is for sure!
- The Bombers drop their 3rd straight game! Anybody still don't believe in Team Chemistry?
- Westlake vs Ballers is a huge game! Playoff seeding is on the line

This is just my opinion and for fun, so enjoy!

Edit: had some spelling mistakes
