D-L slips a notch, and C-T strengthens their playoff position with the upset. Not much else changes.

The D-League Home For Underprivileged Children .582
Constantinople Romans .576

D-L's loss drops their rating down a bit in the ratings as well, but again, no other significant games were played that had any real effect.

The closest projected game this week, and the only one of consequence, is D-L v. C-T (+11). After failing me, I've shunned C-T and put my money on D-L.

make your record 3-5....c-town baby

I'm never betting on C-T again. You guys just can't win or lose when you're supposed to. But to be perfectly frank, after blowing several games due to bad 4th quarter play calling, they finally get a bounce the other way as D-L shows off their 2 minute run offense, able to burn off the entire clock without crossing midfield!

This week is the beginning of the Romans make-or-break games, leading to a potential finale against D-L that could determine who gets home field $$$. 5 point favorites over the Raiders, they risk sliding even further down with a loss, with C-T climbing steadily. I think the game will finish with less than a 5 point difference in either direction, so I'll pick the Raiders to beat the spread.

Alpha projections

NISSA Dauphins 15 1
Chernobyl Meltdowns 15 1
Kharkiv Thrashers 13 3
Woburn Tanners 12 4
Lisbon Crows 12 4
Black Sea Pirates 10 6
Transylvania Impalers 10 6
Saratov Catrades 9 7
Tallaght Outlaws 8 8
BERLIN RAIDERS 7 9
Tskhinvali Rebellion 5 11

Bohemian Grove Molechs 2 14
Jax Beach B.O.H.I.C.A 2 14
International Players 0 16

Alpha RPI

NISSA Dauphins .610
Chernobyl Meltdowns .605
Kharkiv Thrashers .597
Black Sea Pirates .554
Lisbon Crows .540
Woburn Tanners .540
Transylvania Impalers .515
Tallaght Outlaws .501
BERLIN RAIDERS .487
Saratov Catrades .476

Jax Beach B.O.H.I.C.A .437
Sacramento Storm .426
Fehérvár Enthroners .410
Bohemian Grove Molechs .385
International Players .366

No movement in Alpha. NISSA and Chernobyl both lose a few points after beating up little kids for their lunch money. The Outlaws make a strong showing against the Tanners, but the result is still a loss. A pretty boring week overall.

But now we've got Pirates (+4) v. Impalers, Chernobyl (-15) v. Lisbon, and Thrashers (+27) v. NISSA. Every game will affect the standings.

I'll take all the favorites to cover.

Nice Rankings

I really don't what was up with the D-Leagues offense at the end of the game. I guess they all ready new they were going to lose. Low confidence maybe Ha Ha

Weren't we (Sevastopol Wolverines) picked as the 8 seed to start the season? Funny how that works

Very familiar seeing the Pythons and ourselves sitting atop of a conference

oh man, how I'd love to score a home playoff game

need a Transylvania or Saratov win over the Pirates, and NISSA/Cherny to take down Lisbon

all very realistic at this point! going to be a fun last 3 weeks, except the Tanners only have 1 tough matchup IMO.

edit: except now that I hate on the RAIDERS i am sure they will pull some magic and knock us to the 5th seed

We've got 3 tough games coming up. Coming into this league, and this division looked daunting, and now the last 3 games are overly so. Good luck to Rome, Wheatfield and D-league in the final 3 weeks.

That's 1 way to look at it. Another, more accurate way, might be "Very familiar seeing the Pythons sitting atop of a conference. With the Wolverines, Raiders, and the Cubicles sitting below."

From a historical perspective, I think the Wolverines have the most to prove. From what I can remember, the Wolverines had an incredible regular season in s4, then an even more incredible collapse in a 1-and-done playoff. Season 5 was a huge disappointment, with another 1-and-done. The Cubicles won the conference that season, losing to the Raiders - who would win it all - in the conference finals. Both teams advanced to AA. I don't know what happened in season 6, but the story the numbers tell is that the Pythons basically stomped every team they faced, including a 50 point blowout of the Wolverines in the playoffs.

On a game-by-game basis, the Wolverines can match up with any team here, but have actually accomplished very little. The Raiders and Pythons have each won league titles, and even the Cubicles (who haven't) won a conference title and moved up a season faster. While bacardi might start his attacks here, my whole point has been that you guys have done well this season, and could put your stamp in the history books if you can succeed in the post season. You've beaten the teams you should, managed to win the close ones, and have set yourselves up for a deep playoff run. But to group yourself with a team where your last 4 meetings were losses by 21, 21, 50, and 25... well, you get the idea.

i dont think we have a conf title. oh wait, unless you meant we finished 1st in the conf regular season. i guess you could count that, although we dont get a little trophy image for it.

Yeah, that's what I meant, but my point was just that the Wolverines haven't won a title, and are the slowest of the A8 teams to move up. But maybe this season changes everything.

And stop hijacking my thread!

I can agree with that viewpoint. Winning anything after your inaugural season in a league outside of a Pro, especially in an expansion league, means less because other teams had to get promoted for you to shine. Everything after season four done by a team in A8 meant less because Athens Ferrymen and Swedish Stackers had to leave before any A8 team could win anything and the more seasons go bye that you were in A8 the less a promotion meant. They're both in AAA now while the rest of us are trying to move up with Athens having a shot to go to EE Pro after this season.

If the Wolverines can do something big here in our first season in AA or even get promoted to AAA ahead of teams that got promoted faster it'd be a huge accomplishment but always chasing Athens. Damn Iggy! Top two team in AA4 at this point is more than I think we expected on our side and there was planning for this season build wise and scouting since before we even played a game here. Pythons we knew were the team to beat they've had an AAA caliber team since last season. Wolverines we were just hoping for the playoffs and I know beating Cape Town was huge obviously since a few of our players enjoyed that one.

I'm one of probably the minority who doesn't mind the Cubicles forum talk and don't take this stuff all personal but then again I haven't visited these forums in a few weeks either! Congrats to all playoff bound teams!
