All I got today. I hope Chriztain recognizes that the GOTW is Alberta - Laval! Clash of the Titans! or Tinys!

Cincinnati Cardinals: 10 Previous: 10
Cards win again! They escaped a visit from the chicken in fine fashion. The Red Bird had some challenges moving the ball on Arroz, only 270 total with a paltry 2.3 through the air. They were good for 5 yards a rush. On D, perhaps the game winning fumble recovery for TD or the forced FG while up only 7 were the keys to this one. The rest of #5 will have to keep waiting for our Vike in Shining Armor to knock off the evil Red Bird. If that Vike appears it will make us all feel better about ourselves. Matchup: Vikes

Vancouver Vikings: 9.25 Previous: 9.25
Nice bye week for the Vikes. Perhaps tuning up the machine for the Birds matchup? or just tuning up the old lady. Hard to say. We shall see in 36 hours. Matchup: Birds

North Bay Drift: 9 Previous: 9
The Drift completed a thorough tour of Fort McMurray with a camera full of pics of the 2 HBs crawling all over the vulnerable Fort. Over 400 yards for those 2 rushing and nearly 80 receiving. It was a fun day full of ramparts and brochures. The Mounties managed only 3.5 per play in the contest. The Drift D beat the Mounties on several 4th down tries that lead to a lower than expected 7 points given up. Matchup: Demos

Manitoba Maulers: 9 Previous: 9
Mani put a death move on the Fish. They moved the ball any and every way they chose. To the tune of 550+ yards. The Mauler DEs feasted on bloated Fish QBs all day. Allowing them only 3 yards per play and just 15 mins of possession time. It was not close and never in doubt. Matchup: Dragons

Edmonton Thunderchiefs: 8 Previous: 8
Guys I scored a Thunderknown bobble head this weekend! If I am being honest, I put it on my headboard for a bit of extra passion when it counts. They "Rick Rolled" a quality Demos offense. The Known D was all over the Demos QBs. Decimating the Demos offensively and defensively. This team is for real and certainly 'known' now. Matchup: Rancho

Arroz Con Pollo: 8 Previous: 7.5
~When the music starts, hold your hands out in front of you and open and close them like a chicken beak four times. Put your thumbs in your armpits and flap your wings four times. Place your arms and hands like the tail feathers of a chicken and wiggle down to the floor four times. Clap four times. Rinse and repeat! You have just done the Chicken Dance!~ I would imagine home games in Arroz are about annoying as you can get. The Chicken put a serious scare into the Evil Red Bird. Serious. Take that 1st Q fumble for TD away and maybe a third down conversion late in the 4th and we are looking at an upset. Great game, better gameplan. These guys have earned some respect after a very disappointing start to the season. Don't let up boys. Couple spooky matchups down the line here. 5th playoff spot would be advisable. Matchup: Moosers

Moose Jaw Roughriders: 7 Previous: 6.5
Rancho 17 - Moosers 54. Mooser offense 7.1 rushing, 7.4 passing. Another solid respectable outcome. Two losses in S7 that could have been the other way in Victoria and Canada, flip those around and you have an 8-4 team. Instead you guys have some work to do with Arroz and Vancouver coming up. No room for both losses I don't think. Matchup: Arroz

Canada Dragons: 6.5 Previous: 6
Here we go Drags. You guys have been just under the surface. Finished the week with a freebie courtesy of the quitter team. I'm not interested in even opening the box score. Of real interest is what you do the next 4 games. The league has much respect for Old and his GM squad. Solid team no doubt. Mid teens in the league in O and D, but it comes down to the last couple to determine success/fail for the season. Matchups with Mani and in the Drift are likely to determine playoffs or not. OP is pulling for you (save the Drift game). Matchup: Mani

Rancho Penasquitos Thunderbolts: 6 Previous: 6
Rancho, you are just not good enough. You have the team to compete here. Getting woodshedded by the Moosers after nearly knocking off the Cards is not what you want to see. Rancho moved the ball with over 300 yards of offense but had no answer whatsoever for the Mooser O. According to what I have here (on a quick check) you guys have the 7th best offense in the league but the 22nd worst defense. I hope to see you guys really put the pieces together for S8. Matchup: Thunderknowns

Victoria Fish: 6 Previous: 6
Mani smashed your fuck. Really no way to spin this one. Less than 2 yard average both rushing and passing. It got to a point that the Maul was using your squad for practice drills. The Fish made some changes and I assume decided to actually game plan some this season. Last 3 losses have been against very good, game planning teams. (Van, Arroz and Mani). With your levels you really should have at least competed with those teams, but you didn't. You guys have a couple winnable ones upcoming but finish in the Drift and a visit by the Knowns. You are going to need those games I think. Kudos on righting the ship early but you are going to have to find some answers for the best in the West. Matchup: FMMP

Manitoba Lions: 6 Previous: 5.5
The Lions had a auto with one of the #5 quitters. This team is brimming with talent just trying to find their way. A couple quality wins going out with Moosers and Rancho will really set the table for a return to glory in S8. Bring it home Lions. Matchup: Thrash

Fort McMurray Mounted Police: 5 Previous: 5
Razor and clan have been searching and searching. This team is a darling of #5. Everyone wants them to get there. There has been no answers. There was a positive sign against the Demos, but the Drift asserted themselves in a major way winning this one. FMMP hang in there, find your spot. There is no reason you guys cant win out with matchups with the Fish, Drags, and 2 auto wins. Matchup: Fish

Fhockey.com Demos: 4 Previous: 4
Demos are afk. Once again. Matchup: Drift

Alberta Irukandji: 3 Previous: 7.5
Alberta, the little brother that begs to play Risk but quits crying after you storm Greenland. Little brothers never finish the game. Whatever. Matchup: Laval

Laval Crusaders: 2 Previous: 5
Salty Balls Matchup: Alberta Quit

Saskatchewan Thrashers: 0.000001 Previous: 0.00001
Matchup: Lions

Cheers!

Laval vs Alberta? If only it was a three way battle with the Thrashers in there too!

Not at all arguing with our ranking, but we're (Demos) not AFK.

I will say this: that after gameplanning 3 games and winning two of them, we haven't had any gameplan now again in a few games. I'm pushing hard right now to have people get their act together for the Drift game -- don't know if I'll be successful though. I don't know what the deal is though -- if we're spread too thin organizationally (2 other teams in our org leading their respective conferences, plus a lot of effort goign into our parent team), or if just nobody's motivated.

It sucks though.

Always expect your mom jokes. Or "thats what she said." The classics are classic for a reason. I'm pissed about what they did to your coach, by the way. And who they got to replace him.

thanks for the rankings and commentary!

Moose Jaw is overrated in these rankings, having lost to two teams ranked 'below' them.
Victoria and Canada will be making the playoffs and deserve better ratings.

Canada will almost certainly beat FMMP and fhockey, making them 9-7 and in the playoffs.
This will set up oldbaldone nicely for next year.

Victoria needs to beat FMMP and fhockey too and will probably do it.
These wins would make them 8-8 and probably in the playoffs.

Moose Jaw needs to beat the Manitoba Lions (no guarantee). Then we need
Victoria to lose OR pull an upset over Arroz (lol) or Vancouver (lololololl)
to make the playoffs. That's almost impossible.

Thank you for not giving Alberta any slack. It's funny, I was thinking of my own little brother quitting Risk and other board games when we were kids when I called Alberta out. Thanks for the excellent read as always Crockrh

@Primis: Sounds like you need some new coordinators. You guys should be game planning for every game except the gimmies. Offense and Defense should be taking scouting reports, or doing the scouting themselves, and tuning their side of the ball. If they are too busy to do that then perhaps some others in the organization would be willing to step up?

I actually think you are right Dimmy, and I'm sure that sucks to be right.
