Vision is bad for linemen...so far. I have it softcapped in a guard and when he gets to the outside in a pull, he goes blind. If he's in an open hole and needs to get to the next level to block, he sticks to d-line players. It helps a bit to pick up blitzers in pass protect situations, but run blocking is broke.

Has anybody ever taken vision past 70 with eq for an O lineman?

I truely think that just soft capping any skill is not a valid test. Meaning taking a skill to 48 and expecting awsome results will always result in disappointment. Thats just my opinion.

I have it at 49 and am training it right now with confidence just b/c its the best value-pair that I have left. I have it that high more of a fail-proof stat though, so I don't do stupid things. He's not doing anything incredible with 49 vision nor would I expect him to. As previously mentioned, rarely goes into the second level, even if the TE has the DE covered just fine.

I found it necessary to have it soft capped. Low vision is quite a liability in terms of missed assignments imo.

I think there is something in the blocking code that makes it difficult for downfield blocking by Oline to occur. I think it's one of those things where if your guy could "see" the LB downfield, he'd "see" all kinds of things, and basically run in circles not knowing where to go. But you'd think this could be worked out.

I've seen examples of the G going straight to the second level. This mainly occured against a cupcake opponent, running Single Back I Slam. The RG went straight for the LB.

Vision helps. If anything, it helps your guy start into his dropback a bit quicker. Still, I don't think it's overly important. You can train it with pretty good success.

we have RG with 50 vision and I don't see it helping him one bit. The RG has 50 vision the LG has 15 vision and there's no difference. The RG still engages the C instead of picking up a blitzer, so vision doesn't do anything to actually help from my perspective. Maybe it helps you avoid those random offsides penalties, but who cares tbh. I think you're wasting SP if you put any into vision.

Again 50 might not be enough for vision to make a difference. 50 is nothing! What would a G do with 75 vision? Now answer that!

remember too that vision is not just literally "seeing" the field but also general football knowledge (note the the vision boosting VA is called "Football Genius"), so I think it factors into a variety of checks besides just whether you can see the next guy to block.
