We had 10 teams vote again this week, Thanks Guys!! We also had the same 10 teams from the last poll remain on this one as well. Because of that I added a little extra to this list. On the far right of every team you will see the point differential from last week's poll to this one. I thought it would be neat to see where the points went from week to week and where the voting trends were.
LOL once again remains at the top with their impressive victories over Congo and Cairo. The warmup is over for them though as they play the other 4 best teams in Elephant over the next 5 weeks. In Game of the Week #1 they face off against a very angry #6 Ghana team. The Buffalos are coming off a 1 point loss to Cairo and nothing would make that pain go away better than a win over the Legos. This will be fun to watch that's for sure.
The Kings take control of the 2nd spot on the poll after winning last week's Game of the Week over the Dream. It was a very exciting slobberknocker with two of the league's best rushing attacks squaring off. Both teams gave a good showing of themselves, but when the dust settled Cape Verde was the victor. They didn't have much time to celebrate though, as tomorrow in Game of the Week #2 the Kings face off against another Lion juggernaut, The #7 SA Ridgebacks. Will they have anything left in the tank after such a tough contest last week? We shall see. What is interesting though, they grabbed 2nd place on the list without gaining any more votes from last week.
Those points seem to have gone from TLGoT to DD. Djibouti got it's share of 2nd place votes this week after defeating Buckeye Nation soundly. While the Buckeyes aren't in the upper tier of the league, they aren't slouches either and are much better than a CPU team, like the one TLGoT defeated. This rivalry between DD and TLGoT will only get hotter these last few weeks until they meet in week 16, in what will surely be one of the most anticipated games of the year. TLGoT meets that same Buckeye team tomorrow and DD meets Cairo, a squad that's knocked off several top teams already this season.
The Pirates and the Bugeaters continue their climb up the charts with their 7th and 6th wins in a row respectively, the second and third longest in the league.
The Stallions won big this week but dropped a spot in the polls like other teams before them have after playing the Donkies. But it was a perfect game at the perfect time for them after that momentum draining OT loss to the Pirates. SLS look very capable of winning out the season and can be in position to make some noise as the playoffs approach.
OK that's enough talk for 1 night, I need a beer refill.
Good luck everyone!! Toad Out
